[Image: citadelles.png] - Hordle / Net Man
QCC is nominating Hordle, also affectionately known as our goalie captain Net Man. Hordle is a long-time member of the QCC locker room, and it's an understatement to say it wouldn't be the same without him. While we've been working on a rebuild, Net Man has been regularly saving the day on the ice while Hordle busies himself keeping the LR from being dragged down by the lull that can come with any rebuild. We couldn't help but want to share how much everyone here loves him just as much as he likes to humbly say that he doesn't contribute anything meaningful to the team. New creates gravitate towards him and love bouncing their enthusiasm off of their grumpy goalie, and alumni will constantly scream "HODL!" anytime he makes an appearance.
This writer knew about Hordle long before he recreated with Net Man, and now that I've had the chance to get to know him I wish I could properly convey how very wonderful of a presence he is in all of our lives. Who wouldn't love someone who took his entire team to Denny's after a shutout, and went on to inspire us to chant the restaurant's name every time any QCC goalie stops every shot they face in a game? Sure, the food itself may be hit or miss (don't tell him I said that), but the bonding rallying cry will forever be an integral part of of QCC—much like our nominee himself.
[Image: elk.png] CloudRobot - Mac Turner
They have been an absolute godsend for the Elk as a beacon of activity and positivity despite our major skid last season and similar. Helping out wherever they can, even offering to build things they didn't originally plan to so that they can help the team out more. Just an all around wonderful person.
[Image: raptors-new.png] - Wuma / Update Portal
He stands as a shining example of the epitome of an underrated user/player in our league, and it is with great enthusiasm that we make the case for him to be awarded the prestigious Jack Cross Trophy.
From the moment Wuma stepped into the S73 Draft Class Discord chat as a recreate, they radiated leadership and positivity. Their influence was not limited to first-generation players; rather, it extended to everyone, fostering a supportive and inclusive environment for both rookies and recreates alike. Once joining the Colorado Raptors, Wuma maintained his level of activity in the LR and became a permanent fixture in daily talks in the chat. Their presence in the COL community and the LR has been a source of inspiration, encouragement, and unity. They embody the spirit of a true team player, consistently elevating those around them with their unwavering dedication and sportsmanship. Wuma's impact was so profound that they were entrusted with the captaincy for the previous season, a testament to their ability to inspire and lead both on and off the ice.
Speaking of on-ice performance, Update Portal's statistics speak volumes. Among rookie defensemen, Wuma soared to the top, leading the pack in goals scored with an impressive tally of 11. Their physical presence was a sight to behold, as evidenced by an astounding 142 hits – a testament to their tenacity and commitment to the game. In the points department, Wuma firmly secured a spot in the top 3, amassing a total of 30 points. This achievement placed them in close proximity to their formidable COL Defensemen teammates, Valerija Serapin and Liam Rodgers, highlighting their ability to contribute substantially to the team's success.
When considering a recipient for the Jack Cross Trophy, Wuma, aka Update Portal, is the undeniable choice. Their remarkable contributions to both their team and the league as a whole, coupled with their exceptional leadership qualities, make them the epitome of an underrated player/user deserving of this prestigious honor. It's not just a choice; it's a no-brainer. Wuma has left an indelible mark, and it's time to recognize their outstanding achievements with the Jack Cross Trophy.
