Timber  Maine Timber vs Newfoundland Berserkers  Berserkers

Result: Maine wins in 5 games

The high flying Maine Timber entered the series on an 8 game winning streak, sweeping both of their previous opponents; 1st place Vancouver Whalers and the 8th place Detroit Falcons. Game 1 started off quickly with a Maine goal 2 minutes in by Dwayne Swanson, notching their first of 2 points on the night. Maine dug their heels in with 4 first period goals to make the lead 4-2, and proceeded to score twice in the first half of the second period to increase the lead to 6-2. Newfoundland tried to mount a comeback, scoring 3 goals in the back half of the game, with their 5th goal coming with just a minute left in the third. Maine's Morgan Delfield and Cameron Dallas each scored 2 goals and an assist to lead the Timber to their 9th win in a row and first of the finals. Game 2 started off similarly, with 2 early first period goals to push Maine ahead early both coming from Shootin Blanks. Newfoundland responded with a late 1st period goal but the team ended up going down 4-1 before entering the 3rd period. Two early third period goals from Newfoundland cut the lead to 4-3 before Maine turned the jets on and scored 3 times to close out the game 7-3. Shootin Blanks had 2 goals and an assist and Morgan Delfield had their second 2 goal game of the series as Maine thundered off to an early 2-0 series lead. They would make it a 3 game series lead in their next 3-0 win, as Gewmba Stolemamoney posted an impressive 37 save shutout to lock out the game for the Timber. Buster Knutt and Jordan Thompson each had 2 points in the win, and Morgan Delfield increased their goal streak to 5 in 3 games. In their first elimination game of the finals, Newfoundland struck back with their big 3 of Dan Craig, Erik Erikson, and Sad Ketchup all getting goals, with Craig scoring twice to open the game. A 3 point night by Erikson and Craig, coupled with a 41 save game by Ben Harrison was able to push elimination back for a game. Game 5 was the series clinching game for Maine, as Maxwell King II scored just 20 seconds in to demoralize the Berserkers. A 3 goal period for the Timber, was able to send them into the locker room up 3-0 for the first intermission. Cameron Dallas and Dwayne Swanson each scored a goal in the second period as Maine's team focus was switched to defense with only 20 minutes standing between them and the Four Star Cup. Newfoundland broke the shutout 9 minutes into the third period, but after Mick Mayhem and Shootin Blanks scored late, the game was clinched. A big game by Maine's defense when it mattered most was able to help their high flying offense secure the trophy. Jeff Goldblum and Morgan Delfield had a 99 DGR as Goldblum put up 3 blocks and Delfield added 4 takeaways, Buster Knutt added on with an 87 DGR with another 5 blocks to help Gewmba Stolemamoney preserve their 34 save game and .970 save percentage in the closing moments.

Congratulations to Maine! A strong performance throughout the entire playoffs led to a dominant performance in every series, amassing a record of 12-1 is ridiculous! Led by their deep offense, Logan Webb finished as the team leader with 23 points in 13 games, followed closely by Shootin Blanks with 22 in 13. Defensive scoring was led by Teal'c with 13 points in 13 games, but defensive game rating was led by Buster Knutt, with a team high of 80. Gewmba Stolemamoney was on fire all playoffs, amassing a 12-1 record to go along with a 2.14 GAA and a .922 save percentage, leading the playoffs in GAA, save percentage, and wins.
