Tanner Pitts - Season + Draft S74 Review Inferno Raptors

Meaningful hockey! It was something that Tanner Pitts had been praying for to the hockey gods as the Colorado Raptors entered their second season with Pitts between the pipes. It had been a tough off season. With very few things looking up for the young goaltender. However, he had high hopes. He was drafted in the middle rounds by the Atlanta Inferno, who had trust in him to develop properly into a full time goaltender in the SHL.

He had been mocked previously by his own fans in Colorado who were upset that they had taken a goaltender who was inexperienced and had not proven that he could stand the test of time and unfortunately for Tanner, the fans so far were right. He had not shown them a good season yet and this had scared SHL scouts. When he was drafted by the Atlanta Inferno, the announcers had even gone so far as to make fun of the team's pick. They found humor in talking about the immense amount of debt that he had accumulated. Debt that had been caused by his attempts to further Max out his players TPE earnings. They mocked him as if developing his player wasn't the proper course of action for a new SHL member. He had completely drained his personal finances in the hopes of giving his team a better chance at winning. But somehow this went completely unnoticed and was simply seen as Poor financial management on his part. Tanner was furious at this development, as all he had done was for his team and his fan base in an attempt to try and protect their failing first season.

Tanner Pitts devoted himself to his offseason training and made his financial success a top priority. He knew that a strong financial portfolio would be extremely helpful to fuel his development in the SHL going forward. Obviously a rookie to the league would often find that their financial situation would be slightly worse off than some of the seasoned veterans that have already had immense experience in the SHL. However, Tanner had a plan, and he set that into motion the first day of the new season, betting all of his money on an unknow cryptocurrency known as Hotdog coin. With only a few extra expenses to buy card packs every single day through his subscription, Tanner turned immense profit. Tanner managed to amass a fortune of $6.5 million almost overnight. No longer could the so-called experts of the SHL laugh at his financial situation that he had purposely forced into turmoil to promote success of his team. He would no longer stand for the jokes made against him about how he couldn't afford training, couldn't afford cards or couldn't afford simple necessities living in Colorado. This was one of the first steps towards success that Tanner had been able to accomplish.

While financial success doesn't perfectly translate to on ice success. It was a small victory for Tanner, who had previously been over $1 million in debt. With this immense part of his offseason goals off of his shoulders, Tanner Pitts set his sights on maxing out his TPE once again and molding himself into a star goalie for the Raptors. This small win, not only proved the experts of the SHL wrong, but also sets himself up for future success in the league going forward. Tanner remains hopeful to be rostered by the Atlanta Inferno in the coming  seasons once they have tasted his determination to succeed. The season was a promising look at the future outcome. It didn't take long for the Colorado Raptors to get hot, finishing second in their conference. This paved the way to a finals appearance for the Raptors which ultimately lead to a Game seven loss to the Detroit Falcons. While the ending was not a perfect Cinderella story, the Raptors will return next season to decimate all teams in their way. The taste of victory was not enough for Tanner Pitts and he would not stop until he has brought a cup home to Colorado. The SMJHL will not be prepared to handle the Raptors onslaught.

Tanner found himself playing a much more complete form of hockey with the Raptors this season and was proud of his overall performance. Although there are many areas that he notices a need to improve. Tanner leads the league in overtime losses, and large questions still remain about his overall ability to clutch up in important game time moments. While this remains an outstanding issue in his game, it is hard to deny his ability as Tanner has established himself as one of the SMJHL’s better Sophomore goaltenders. There is always going to remain room for improvement and Pitts cannot falter. However, the steps taken show great promise for a strong future in the league. This directly contradicts what was said on draft night about him, as he was considered a bust having been picked 51st in the third round. There was a new emotion helping to fuel Tanner that there hadn't previously been there and it was a growing hatred. A deep hatred against those that had not believed in his abilities, or those that have put him down over his first season and time of need. While they had not directly impacted his success in the league to date, their words still rang hurtful in his ears every time he stepped onto the ice. Who were they to say that he would not have success at the highest level of simulation hockey? They don't know him, they don't know what he's even been through. He was convinced that he would prove them  all wrong. All of them. At this point his drive was more than fueled by a love for hockey, it was fueled by a strong need to defend his skills. He was striving to prove every single person wrong about him. Tanner needed to prove that he could become the best goalie in the SMJHL. In fact, Tanner knew that he could become the best goalie in the SHL. There was no one he would allow to extinguish his dreams.

As for those announcers that couldn't get over the fact that he was in a little bit of debt, there is no way that debt was a career ending issue for a player. Without doubt, he had already shown them wrong. Perhaps in the future if they need a little bit of money, they can come to him and he can provide them with some good investment advice. Tanner Pitts is here to stay. There was no way that Tanner would be going anywhere any time soon. Not only that, but Tanner vowed to continue to get better and better as the seasons go on. The Colorado Raptors had found faith in Tanner Pitts and he would not let them down again. The Atlanta Inferno clearly have faith in Tanner Pitts after drafting him. Tanner was aware that  just because a few individuals had already lost confidence in him did not mean that he could not prove them wrong. Please be ready SHL as Tanner Pitts intends to one day take you by storm.

There's no one I trust more than Tanner Pitts to bail me out when I make a bad pass that leads to a breakaway.
