Deep Dive #2 - S76 SMJHL Redraft
#1

Today we are going to look at the top 10 prospects in the season 76 SMJHL draft and redraft them based on their total points earned (TPE) throughout their rookie season. We will take a deeper look into who the biggest riser of the draft is and who the unfortunate biggest dropper is. Lastly, we will take a look at which team came out as the biggest winner within the 1st round of the draft!

Who's the Biggest Riser?

For the biggest riser of the draft we have a tie! Both Emeric Gagner and Swedish Chef have risen 4 spots within the top 10 of the draft. Emeric Gagner was drafted by the Kelowna Knights at 10th overall and has risen up to the 6th spot. He has earned 266 TPE so far this season. He's completed all point tasks, trainings, activity checks, and deep dives excluding mPT #1 and 1 deep dive but there is still plenty of time for that to be completed. Swedish Chef was drafted by the Carolina Kraken 5th overall and has risen up to the top spot in the draft. He's completed every opportunity that has been presented to earn points which has him at 278 so far this season.

Who's the Biggest Dropper?

The unfortunate biggest dropper of the redraft is Gina Pinard of the San Diego Tidal. They drafted him at the 4th overall spot and he's dropped down to the 9th spot in the draft. He's only earned 251 points so far. He's completed every weekly training and weekly activity check but has missed mPT #2, PT #2, PT #1, and both deep dives. There is still time for him to make up some ground with the deep dives but he has likely fallen behind a few guys who won't miss any point task opportunities.

Now that we have reviewed who has risen the highest and fallen the furthest, let's take a look at the top 10 redraft!

10. (-2) Simon Science (249 TPE)
9. (-5) Gina Pinard (251 TPE)
T7. (+2) Hockey Player (262 TPE)
T7. (0) Jefferson Steelflex (262 TPE)
6. (+4) Emeric Gagner (266 TPE)
5. (-3) Trevor Lopez (273 TPE)
4. (+2) Pohler Beargeron (276 TPE)
T2. (+1) AT-AT Wøllker (277 TPE)
T2. (-1) Gwendolyn Telenn (277 TPE)
1. (+4) Swedish Chef (278 TPE)

Which team won the 1st round?

After taking a look at the full first round and redrafting based off of their total points earned, the Berserkers have come out on top with Ólafur Atlason. They drafted him at the 15th overall spot which is the 2nd last pick in the 1st round and he has risen all the way up to the 7th overall spot. He's completed all point tasks, all weekly trainings, activity checks, and even both deep dives already. The Berserkers had a pretty much guaranteed gem pick with Ólafur Atlason due to who the user is and I it won't be a surprise if I see him drafted way earlier in the SHL draft.

I'll be making a larger media article based on the whole draft during x2 media week that'll be a little bit more accurate TPE wise!
