Conference Finals game 1-2 recap

Finally the conference finals are here and my dream matchup is happening. Carolina Kraken vs Maine Timbers! I wasn’t sure but here we go in the south. We also have Quebec City Citadelles vs Newfoundland Berserkers up in the north. The top 4 teams in the season!
Kraken vs Timbers We head to Maine where the southern titans face off! The Timbers dominated the home court in both games. Let’s start with game 1 folks. Timbers’ 36 SOG, 55% FO%, 0/3 PP, 6 PIM, 19 Hits, 10 GA, and 10 TA over Kraken’s 32 SOG, 45% FO%, 0/3 PP, 6 PIM, 18 Hits, 10 GA, and 7 TA. Edouard Lavoie and The GodFather were the orchestra directors to set their team in good position. Starting the first period with 4 goals over Kraken’s 2. Second period the defense held tight and negated their opponent’s attempt. Then leave it in the third period Timbers just broke through Kraken’s defense barrier as Will Nuck and Mia Lavoie swung in giving 2-6 game 1 victory. Then we come to game 2 with Kraken coming much better with Peppi Guiseppe motivating the team. Timber made their push in the first 2 periods of the game as did Kraken but in the 2nd period Timber tightened that defensive wall! While they can maneuver past Kraken’s wall and make 2 scores. Peppi Guiseppe tried to save the match in the 3rd period but it’s too late. Timber takes game 2 with 3-4. Timbers is on fire and it's clear that Timbers GM got their defense on point and probably the best we have seen them all season! They cut the pride and just focus on their objective. Their bouts with Scarecrow and Battlehorn help them to this point. Now Kraken knew this will be tough and this playoffs have been an uphill climb among the quad they had the longest games and lowest recovery time. Kraken GM needs to make a new strategy with defense because Timber has seen the plays so come back with something fresh. Come up with some alternate plays for offense to break Timber’s defense. Hopefully as we go to Carolina they can turn it around with the home field advantage. Citadelles vs Berserkers People have doubted Citadelles when it comes to playoffs but honestly these guys have shut the mouths of their critics. For the past 2 rounds, they have swept their competitions and now here is their last competitor in the conference. Berserkers may challenge everyone in the northern camp hoping to break the mole. Here we go with game 1 which was neck to neck. Both sides on their game, especially defense negating both sides and saying no! Song Ju-gong didn't allow the Berserkers to get any points period! He had his best play today! Citadelles was able to leave with 1 point ending game 1 0-1. Newfoundland GM was like hell nah we are not going down like these other guys. Now comes game 2 and the prayers of the northern camp were answered! 1st period was tight hold with defense and continued on 2nd period but quick puck in from 3WW Wingmate-Roc. Then we entered the 3rd period and Berserkers performed operation speed force! The whole offense team exerted their energy to break Citadelles’ defense and gave Song Ju-gong just straight hell! Launchpad McQuack blocked and defended the goal like his life depended on it. They ended game 2 with 5-2 and for the first time all playoff season Citadelles will experience game 5! This matchup will be tough for both sides. The goalies are going to be working indeed. I feel it is going to be a game of chess between these two. Citadelles have been flying but they have been having it easy by sweeping their competitors. Berserkers are going to be challenging. They didn't sweep Yukon and Grizzly but having 12 games of trials and tribulations it impacts you and builds character. As we head to Newfoundland, Berserkers will continue this streak and break through. Citadelles GM must strategize and get their offense together because if they play like they have for the last 2 rounds. Berserker will sweep them in the next 3 games. |
