Hey everyone, it's Dale Murphy
Now on the other side of the five game Eastern Conference Final, and I have some news again
The Forge have failed yet again. They have once again fallen short of the goal. Despite a monster season, it has been the same issue year in year out. They cannot seem to get themselves over the hump. This team is a playoff failure.
A rough 5-4 OT loss at home in game two set it into motion. They were then unable to keep New England off the scoreboard, as they allowed 6, 5, and 9 goals in the games 3-5.
The team has a boat load of UFAs. In fact, only Ubba Lodbrok, Marek Carda and Leonard Wood officially have contracts. However, I highly doubt we see much movement in the roster, I assume everybody simply re-ups.
The only rookie I expect to see is Launchpad McQuick taking over the backup goalie spot.
Can a similar roster get it done next season? Will there be more changes than I expect? Perhaps.
I'm Dale Murphy signing off,
