As a new season's beginning looms over the horizon, and we slowly move away from the Playoffs, everyone is eager to get going and start with the right footing. New friends joining in, while some familiar faces grow out from the SMHJL and into the main league, It's come to my atention how some players have managed to acrue over time not only very high recorded numbers on specific feats or achievements over season-long periods. What's rarer still, is the capacity to go even beyond, and achieve such level of high performance consistently over prolongued periods of time. So, as a commemoration to this season's closure, I'd like to bring atention to two figures less often talked about.

Ange Baardsen Elk (Right Wing) is a prime example of such players. Having concluded her last season at the Junior league with the first place in Hits for the second time in a row (Standing at 255 for S76 and 217 for S77), and three times at the top 2, With a grand total of 823 Hits (Average 205,75 per season), Inge proves time and time again that even as a Wing, her prescence extends to the every corner of the field, with defensive aptitudes and capabilities to condition the opponent's moves which are absolutely-through the roof.

As a result of her continued efforts, it seems like she has achieved the 4th place at the all-time Hits at SMHJL. An incredible achievement, considering the bar has been set so high up that it would seem almost unsurmountable, especially with the first place being held by Boris Petrov with a whooping 1086 Hits!

Jack Booth Scarecrows (Right Defense) is another case of such players, in spite of the latest struggles St. Louis has endured this season, Jack's contributions and dedication to the role of safekeeper might as well earn him the nickname of "Skater Goalie". Well, frankly I doubt any of that would fly, maybe someone better suited for the matter could think of a better nickname for him.

What's a certainty, however, is that his current record of 291 Shots Blocked during S77 has earned him the 5th spot at the Season-long records at SMHJL. If this wasn't spectacular enough, we need only to be reminded that Jack has got yet another season to boot, and looking at his files, we can admire that in merely three seasons, he has performed a grand total of 801 Shots Blocked (Average of 267 Blocks per season). Who knows, we could be soon to witness the new all-time Juniors record for Blocks, currently held by Willow Soderberg-Snooks at 953. Potentially the first one to get into the thousand-terrotory!

I'm sure that the people will be keeping a close eye to these players, whatever tricks they may still hold under their sleeve and what new potentials they may develop. We hope our sincerest best wishes for him and his teammates.
