Jean-Jacques Francois Jacques-Jean/r0tzbua
On Ice: r0tzbua player has been a crucial part of the Timber’s success this season and for every season he has been with us. Unfortunately he has been constantly overshadowed by the Lavoies and it has kept him from being recognized for the amazing play he has contributed. His ability to produce near lot a hundred points this season should not be overshadowed by the Lavoies success. He is the reason that they have found so much success.
Locker Room: One of our most active members in the LR he is constantly helping out and making sure the team is engaged. He is either showing off his hockey cards or his dog and his leadership resulted in him being named captain for us this season. He truly deserves league recognition for everything he does and his impact not just now but for his time in the SHL
Noah Smith/omji
On Ice: Tucked away in the second line as the defensive counterpart to Max Belcher, it's easy to overlook Smith. Team high 230 blocks (50 percent more than second on the team), team high +12, and the only defenseman with a positive Goal Diff per 60, anchored by a team best 2.2 GA/60 begin to tell the story of the cornerstone of Carolina's 5th in the league scoring defense. Carolina played in the 2nd most non-regulation games this season, played in more one goal games than most teams, and through the back half of the season scraped out plenty of quality wins against top teams. The Kraken performing like a top 6 team in the final 40 games of the season was rooted in their ability to grind games out, and that was established by the see second line's defensive leader.
Lccker Room: Desire has been a pillar of the Carolina LR since joining on a whim when the VHL folded (no not that one). Consistently one to drive conversation, engage with new faces, and have a good chat about anything that comes up, they're the perfect example of players you go out of your way to draft or sign when you're looking to build or continue a strong LR culture.
Andrea Morandi - Fluberwusterdinge
On Ice: For a rookie on a team in between competing and rebuilding, there isn't much room to show off your skills, but there is a huge need for flexibility and willingness to adapt to the team's needs. Morandi was a key part of QCC's surprising success this season, putting up a positive +/- and 42 points, serving backup time on both special teams units but never getting to be the star of the show himself. Instead, he was the first to ask what holes we needed to fill and expressed a willingness to do the dirty work, playing center, wing, and even defense on the powerplay and penalty kill units when called for. Morandi's role as a jack-of-all-trades player unfortunately stifled their chance to show superstar ability, but instead gave the league's hardest working rookie the chance to be "above average" in everything from blocks to assists to faceoff win percentage.
Locker Room: If flexibility was the name of the game on the ice, it was only made possible by Fluber's contributions off the ice. Coming into the league without a background in sim leagues or FHM, they nonetheless wanted to immerse themselves in everything as broadly as possible. From the day of the draft, they were interested in reading up on builds, the sim engine, and anything we could provide to help them acclimate to the league, which they've done a fantastic job of so far. Lots of users want to help their team, but few users have the passion to make it their only goal the way that Fluber has for QCC, and it's something they should be very proud of.
Ville Sato-Maki/Dextaria
On Ice: Centering and later being one of the wingers of the second line, Sato-Maki fulfilled the role Vancouver had for them perfectly. They had 41 points on the season, which did make them the lowest scoring member of the top 6, but their role was mainly to retrieve and protect the puck. One of two players in the top 6 to finish the year with a positive +/-, and a 50:63 TA/GA ratio, which frankly isn't bad considering how low scoring and low possession Vancouver was. A major point was how good they were in the faceoffs circle, with a 52.8% FO efficiency and over 200 faceoffs won. 35 blocked shots and a 70 DGR complete the profile of one of the most impressive players in the J for me this season. If we're factoring in the playoffs, Sato-Maki was a +13 with 13 points in 19 games, a 74 GR and a sole game winning goal, which just so happened to be THE goal of our season, the cup winning goal. All in all, Sato-Maki didn't break any offensive record but as a rookie thrown into the top 6 of a competing team, there's nothing I could have asked for other than the very glue holding the line they represented.
Locker Room: Oh boy. Here we go. From the moment Dextaria recreated, I knew who he was. I had heard nothing but good things on him, and after seeing him pop up in the Whalers LR and chat a bit following his recreate approval, I already knew what my plan for the draft was. I quickly signed him to a DFA contract, and the impact was immediate, despite Dex still being somewhat busy with school and life. He injected much needed life in the locker room, giving Shiamus and I some help in keeping the server fun for the team. Dex impressed Shia and I so much that we knew he was THE target for us at the draft. We were even considering moving up to second overall to secure what we considered to be a gem for our locker room. Ultimately, that failed but we got some help from how casual and humble Dex was. Instead of trying to push his draft stock and getting drafted top 5, he instead was simply happy with how everything was going, even though he wasn't getting the expected interest, scouting-wise. From there, we got him at 9th overall and he immediately became a leader in the LR, reimplemented a Whalers 3 stars leaderboard to keep the locker room invested in the team's performance, consistently did boxscores and was voted as an assistant captain in his rookie season. Signing Dextaria to a DFA contract gave us a preview of what we could expect, and he blew those expectations up, giving us even more. Whether it's with late night convos, amazing food pics or help in the WAR room, Dex's impact in Vancouver's latest season cannot be explained just with words.

I can assure you the team has all the access to data they need. Sorry you or your friend (hard to tell when you're not actually making any case) isn't up there where they think they should be. Edit, I did some work on this. If this is about you not being there for rookie, I have no qualms about the noms for that award being a goalie who made top goalie noms as a rookie, and one of two rookie defensemen to be top 10 in scoring (and had other stats to back it up). The final nominee is your teammate, who plays Wing (historically less productive in our engine) compared to your Center, scored more goals at even strength with less even strength ice time, and didn't center a 2nd line of veterans that helped on the +/- and /60 side. You could probably make arguments there either way. Quote:popularity contest and lack of effort to actually look at the numbers. And maybe if this is the case, congratulating your teammate and not calling people stupid might help things.

Yeah and that doesn't change that it was at least a coin flip, where you did less with more. You're more than welcome to apply to the committee though, I'm sure they could use your well constructed arguments.

I can 100% break down why these 3 rookies were nominated but assuming the fact that you did do a deep dive on this award, you do have the understanding to grasp on why Kral King did receive a nod for this award. But I would love to hear your reasoning on why you think your name should be there over others because insight and opinions do matter to me so I can bring back to the committee but if you just want to be angry and not hold an actual discussion, totally understandable. I wish you the best of luck in your player's career and hope to see you win awards in the future.
