There's been some recent news shaking up the IIHF and with that I would like to throw in my 2 cents on an IIHF Fed. Since Kiwi is Unassigned right now but played in the VCHL for Visby, Sweden. It only makes sense to do a roster breakdown and recent history look at Team Sweden. Sweden has last won gold in S68 and really since then, the IIHF has lost all parity as the Gold Medal has either gone to Ireland or Germany (basically). But Sweden has been the third best federation behind Ireland and Germany since their Gold in S68. They've won 3 bronze medals and 2 silver medals. Sweden is definitely in a transition period, but with announcement of a Quebec Fed. I think Sweden will come out one of the stronger Federations in the IIHF (poor Canada). There's basically 2 camps of Sweden players. Those before S70 and those after. Players in red will obviously be done soon. Players in orange will have a few more seasons and the players in yellow are the core for the next few seasons. S69 - S71. Blue players are newer but will become core soon and green players are from the last two classes S77 and S79.

S60ish players
Dogwood Maple - C - S58
Adelie de Pengu - LD - S61
Dave Heinrich - C - S63
Lias Ekholm-Gunnarsson - RD - S63
Luke Laraque - RW - S65
M'Baku Olubori - RW - S65
Matsmith Söderberg-Tremblay - LW - S65
Graj Virrok -  C - S66
Sven Panda - RD - S67
Rasmus Bergling - RD - S67
Jølngüštrâädüvich DuBølk - LD - S69
John Hopoate - LD - S69

S70 players
Tony Soprano - C - S70
Willow Söderberg-Snooks - RD - S70
Johnny FourStar - RW - S71
Andren Akerson - RW - S71
I-Stir MyPudding - RD - S72
Florian Söderberg-Motyla - C - S73
Dag-Otto Björntjänst - C - S74
Will Tomlander - LW - S74
Emil Karlsson - C - S74
Slava-Ukraini Heroyam-Slava - C -S75
Niclas Sundqvist - LD - S75
Violet Stoica - C - S75
Niclas Wastlund - C - S75
Swedish Chef - RW - S77
Pohler Beargeron - C - S77
Kenneth Lind - LD - S79
Jeremy Snugglemuffin III - RD - S79
Abbe Wass - LD - S79
Afb Nohab - C - S79

So looking at just the yellow and blue (i may have colored this very intentionally). We see Sweden has 5 Defensemen and 7 Centers and only 2 Wingers. Really in the next few seasons, Sweden loses a lot of their firepower upfront with players like Mbaku, Dave, and Matsmith aging out. What is even crazier is Sweden had 3 Defesnemen (and defensecats) just created. Putting their future total D players up to 10.  Sweden just saw their biggest class create in the last four years with Lind, Snugglemuffin, Wass and Nohab all creating just now in S79. Really creating quite a log jam for Sweden at Defense. Of course itll be a few seasons before these players are ready for the IIHF, but Sweden won't be short players anytime soon.

Swedens real future stregnth comes in the form of their two newish goalies,Anastasia Söderström - S76 and Denebor Milasch - S74. Both are young and either just finished up their J careers or starting their SHL careers. Having both goalies will be a massive help in the IIHF tournament. Match that with the overload of Defense and Sweden is going to be a very hard team to score on in the IIHF and when the knockout rounds come down to just one game, you want to have the good goalie and deep defense to rely on. Sweden can figure out the missing Forwards later and even have defensemen they could play there and should never lose a faceoffs with the number of Centers they have.

With the shake up of Russia turning into Quebec, I can see Sweden being a real threat in the next few seasons in IIHF just with the natural born players from the Analytics site. This doesn't even include those who are unassigned or might transfer in from Russia. The future is definitely golden in Sweden.

Denied @Aleris

I have denied because without your lists your word count come in at 325 words. I typically don't include lists in my word count as it is an easy copy paste. If you want to pad out your text some more to the 500 word minimum and tag me I can reassess
