The offseason is upon us, and you know what it means?  International hockey, and drafts!

As many of you know, we have a tradition of automatically giving the maximum bonus to all articles and podcasts related to the SHL/SMJHL drafts and the WJC/IIHF tournaments during our special “2x media bonus weeks.” If graphic design is more your style, our friends at the gfx department have already announced the dates for their own special bonus week (see link above).


A. IIHF/WJC Media “Week”: Commencing now until December 11th, at 23:59 Pacific Time - for the entire tournament duration - all articles and podcasts related to the IIHF tournament or the WJC tournament, whether current or past, will be valued at double the standard rate.

Please include (2x IIHF) (2 x WJC) or an equivalent marker in your thread subject to help the graders.

B. SHL Draft Media Week: Starting immediately and running until December 4th, at 23:59 Pacific Time - encompassing a few days before and after the draft - all articles and podcasts about the SHL Draft, whether current or past, will be worth double.

Please add (2x SHL Draft) or an equivalent marker in your thread subject.

C. SMJHL Draft Media Week: Beginning only on December 4th, and extending until December 11th, at 23:59 Pacific Time - once again, covering a few days before and after the draft - all articles and podcasts related to the SMJHL Draft, whether current or past, will be valued at double the standard rate.

Please add (2x SMJHL Draft) or an equivalent marker in your thread subject.

For new players: Please know that all new members of our community can request an automatic 2x media bonus for their first article or their first podcast. If your first submission is during a 2x event, you can use your 2x first media bonus on your next article/podcast.


As always, ensure that your submissions adhere to the submission guidelines for media, or for podcasts. If you have any questions, feel free to contact TheGreatToeJam or myself. Media submissions in the wrong week will be assessed as per usual, so please ensure your content aligns with the designated event. We kindly remind you not to use AI for generating articles, as per our policy on AI tools for content creation.
