Good evening,
Earlier this week, SMJHL Head Office discovered that two teams had lines violations. Nevada Battleborn @JohnFranklinKennedy @fancey13 had an inactive player on a higher line for special teams. This is a violation of rule 2.e.vii.3 which states, “For special teams units, active players must be played on a higher line/pair than inactive players." For this, Head Office voted to uphold the punishment of a $2M fine. The Detroit Falcons @No Goal @OVOXO played two unsigned IFAs, as well as playing them higher than actives on special teams. This created a violation of 2.e.vii.3, 10.e.i.1, 10.f.i.1. In addition, when reconciling their IFAs with the two unsigned IFAs, Head Office discovered that Detroit played a total of 3 IFA players in the 251+ TPE bracket. As teams are only allowed 2 (10.f.ii), Head Office voted to uphold the penalty of a $2M fine of GM pay, as well as a 10 game suspension for all 251-425 TPE IFAs. Both the Detroit GMs and Nevada GMs are welcome to appeal by reaching out to DrunkenTeddy or any other member of the appeals team. ~ SMJHL Head Office |
