I do like the new format of the SHL All-Stars. Brining back the old players to make a true and special experience for the new players and the fans. Also, making all 4 divisions to play each other is a good feature since there is more players that can play in the SHL and it will be much fun to watch more matches in the all-stars. In fact, like in the NHL, more matches to watch in the all-stars, the more money we get (just thinkwise, not in real life lol). What I want to add for the next years, for the all-stars, is to make that it’s also with the worst teams that players can have access to play. In fact, like in real life, the all-stars is also for the players who earn a good spot in the all-stars with the work they made offensively or defensively during their whole season, even if the team hasn’t the best season.

In Chicago, the players who are in the All-Stars are Ho-Lee Smokes, Leo Roze and Sad Ketchup. First of all, we got Ho-Lee Smokes. He is one of the 2 defencemen in the team to earn a spot in the all-stars. He is one of the oldest veterans in the team so far. He earns that spot really well because he helped the team a lot to defend the zone on the worst occasions and getting some points on the best occasion. Next, we got Leo Roze. Leo is the other defenceman who earn a spot for the all-stars. At his fourth season, he is a really good defensive defender who helps the team with the hits and blocked shots to prevent any goals allowed on the team. Lastly, we have Sad Ketchup. Ketchup is an offensive player who won the Rookie of The Year award at his first season in the SHL. With that in mind, he helps a lot the team to make some offensive plays, in even strength or in powerplay. I think he deserved that spot after these years of hard work. All of the team in Chicago is glad to have these players named for the S80 Expo since they will have a blast to play with the legends and represent the team for these All-Stars.
To conclude,
1+3+4 = 8 TPE earned.

Let's start with the hardest one: The goalie tandem. Even though this isn't even about the tandem but more about the starting goalie: For the Pacific: Justin Time just lead the San Francisco Pride to back to back Cup wins and is one of the best goalies in SHL history. An immediate inductee into the Hall of Fame at retirement. But then for the Northeast: There is Elizabeth Doyle who already is in the Hall of Fame as one of the best goalies in history. But because i'd pick up and coming Anastasia Soderstrom over seasoned veteran Rebecca Montagne and because Justin Time is still performing at the highest level right now this position goes to the Pacific Division.
Looking at the forwards for the 4 teams, there is alot of greatness to choose from. But in the end the recency bias wins out for me. After all it's the S80 All-Star game so i want to look at S80 performances above everything else. ANd by doing so i simply can't pass up on putting the three topscorers of the season all on one Line: Jea-ik Barron in the middle of teammate Jiggle E Puff and Johnny Wagner Svenson. The Top Forward line goes to the Powerhouse Atlantic Division.
They may have come up just short on the goalie descision, but when it comes to the top D-Pair my vote goes now goes to the Northeast and i can't even make a real descision for a pairing here. One spot will go to Will Nuck after an incredible season leading all defensman in points and finish 2nd in the league in Takeaways. A true 2-Way powerhouse. The other spot is a tossup between Furious Chicken and Ace Lighning both of them are absolute workhorses finishing in the top 5 in time on ice and the Top 8 in blocked shots. Meanwhile both of them still put alot of points on the board and had alot of takeaways aswell. Either way it's going to be a great D-Pairing.
This leaves only the Central Division as the loosers who didn't get picked. Boooo Central i guess.

Hey Marshi, thanks for helping me with my faceoff skills during the last offseason. You were a great coach and i did really well there. This offseason however i have to get back to practicing my offensive skills.
With Roccamontepiano, Thompson-Smythe, Morandi and McFisherman leaving the team after their last season of Juniors elightebility we have to replace 138 goals for another run at the Cup. that means offensive tactics and shooting drills every day.
I also have practiced screening and and battling in front of the net alot. Hopefully this will lead the needed goals.
See you back in Quebec City for the homeopener.

7. What would be your starting lineup, 3 forwards, 2 defensemen and a goalie for one of the SMJHL conferences?
The Southern Conference saw some great performances this season and it's difficult to nail down the starters. The exception to this in Carolina Kraken goalie Honza Havran who put up ridiculous numbers as a rookie and carried the team to the Four Star Cup final. Havran should be a lock for rookie of the year and a finalist for MVP and is an easy lock as the starting goaltender. On defense I'd put Maine Timber standout Ty Justice and Ottawa Highlander rock Pavel Mintyukov. Justice led all defense in assists and points, 5th in goals, and 4th in hits. While Justice put up great numbers, Mintyukov was second or third in most defensemen categories and put up an all star performance as well. At center would be Anthony Louchard who finished 4th in points and 2nd in assists on a powerhouse Maine offense. On the wings are Louchard's Timber teammate Valteri Pulkkinen, one of two players this season to put up 50 goals and 100 points and the only in the Southern Conference. On the other wing is a homer pick that I could get flack for, because it's my own player, Ottawa Highlander Spaceman Spiff. Spiff led the Southern conference in goals with 54 and and power play goals with 18 and added a top 10 finish in points.

2. Do you like the new format? Why or why not?
The new format is a fun twist and I like it simply because it gives us more hockey. One game is fun, but a short tournament where teams can find time to gel and form rivalries and get revenge for an earlier loss could make for a more competitive series of games. I'm also hoping for a little inner team turmoil when players from rival teams start to fight on the benches.
2. Do you like the new format? Why or why not?
I somewhat like the new format. I think it makes sense to do split teams like this, I am just not sure how this is going to workout in the grand scheme of things yet. I am happy to try it out for a few seasons and see what it looks like. The pros are more All Stars in general, which is a good thing, with teams being represented more. I am all for players getting their time in the spotlight. One of the cons is not really getting to see who the best of the best are. While I understand that these are the best players in the league currently, adding more players to that list dilutes the final product a bit in my eyes. I guess another thing to discuss is the use of legacy players. I like the idea of legacy players getting some love from the All Star games, but I feel like adding them to the teams is kind of a slap in the face to the current players. I can see one legacy player “coaching” a team from their division and getting honored in that way. Realistically wouldn’t these players be too old to be meaningful in these games? I understand this is just for fun, but it takes away from the actual All Stars. [221, +4]
3. What would you do to spice up the new All-star format even further?
After ranting a bit in the prompt above, I think we can expand more into the legacy players being involved with the All Star games. Why not have alumni games where those old All Stars can play each other? Wouldn’t that make more sense and let users of those old players get to relive them once again? Like a legacy player “coach” one All Star team and add an All Star Alumni game by conference as another event. I understand the amount of work this may take, but if they are already adding legacy users to the current All Stars, they could probably do a few more for an extra game. [111, +2]

6. Who do you think should be captain of each team? Why? (151 words, +3 TPE)
For the Atlantic, I'm going Bojo Biscuit. Biscuit is not only one of the best defensemen we've ever seen in the SHL, he was also one of its great leaders. Bojo was the nicest dude and ran the show in West Kendall for a long time; he deserves this spot. The Central gets Jason Visser. I had the misfortune of playing against Visser with Joseph Lombardi, and he was an absolute stud. One of the best pure power forwards the league's ever seen, and someone who could get the best out of everyone. The North gets my former teammate Aaron Wilson as captain. Just an absolute beauty of a human and the brains behind our success in the S50s and S60s. Finally, the Pacific can't be led by anyone other than Esa Anrikkanen. When you think of great leaders in SHL history, Esa comes to mind. Just a beast all around.
7. What would be your starting lineup, 3 forwards, 2 defencemen and a goalie for one of the SMJHL conferences? (121 words, +2 TPE)
I'm going with my own conference, the Northern. And no, it won't be all Quebec players because that would suck.
LW - Jason Bourne (NFF) - Third in the league in points. Broke out this year.
C - Cristoforo Roccamontepiano (QCC) - 123 points. Need I say more? This is the second year that he's ran the J.
RW - Hughes Incorporated (ANC) - playing on his off wing, but one of the best passers in the league.
RD - Barcus Juneau (ANC) - Give my man some respect! Had a great season.
LD - Peter (QCC) - led the J in points for defensemen. Quebec had a lot of high-scoring blueliners, but he's the cream of the crop.
G - Katharina Rosenthal (NFF) - stat-wise, the best goalie in the entire SMJHL.
