This wouldn't be fresh if there wasn't new additions to the roster to spice things up! And the latest batch of SMJHL Draftees didn't disappoint! I allowed myself some creative liberties as well in those I have elected to join this crazy project and here is the first one: Drafted 12th in the first round in the latest entry draft by the Nevada Battleborn, from Toledo in the old US of A! Weighting in at 195 pounds! Some say he is a Real American! Scouts claim he has the potential to become Immortal... HUNTER... CROSS!! Now here is here I sa I took some creative liberties, and this oughta terrify the opposition something FIERCE! Scouting reports says he is SURGICAL with his stick, rumors claims he once took off an ear with the flick of his wrist! From Honeypayne, Canada and the 71 overall selection in the 5th round by the San Diego Tidal: OGIE OGILTHORPE!!! Last but certainly not least! Drafted 39th in the third round of Season 81's draft by the San Diego Tidal, he will bring his shot which we could qualify as a Golf Swing and if he can keep his cool things should go swimmingly! From Waterbury, Connecticut and the 39th overall selection also for the San Diego Tidal: GAPPY HILMORE!!! So! To Recap S82 - Hunter Cross - Right Wing - Hulk Hogan @NamesMonday SMJHL Team - Nevada Battleborn S82 - Ogie Ogilthorpe - Right Defense - Goldie Goldthorpe @HockeyTyrant SMJHL Team - San Diego Tidal S82 - Gappy Hilmore - Left Wing - Happy Gilmore @dude_man SMJHL Team - San Diego Tidal INTRODUCING - The SHL Tag Team Championships! Seeing that many players are drafted / playing for the same team made me want to bring up a tag team division! This division will not impact the single's division in the sense that the two-belt rule doesn't apply here. This is the only time where a wrestler can hold two championships at the same time. The last three teams were made randomly. Here are the teams! Ogilthorpe & Hilmore - The Tidals Cross & McIntyre - The Battleborns Beausoleil & Peanut - Les Patriotes Primeau & Baile - Faith and Money Reznor & Lasombra - The Timber Platoon L'Castor & Turner - The Battle Skrees Before we proceed any further, here are the current Champions! World - Claude L'Castor North American - Mercedes Baylé Challenge - John Peanut Four Star - Darby Reznor Wrestling wouldn't be wrestling with some twists and turns, so here are the rules of the game! Because like some promoter we know, I can do whatever I want! Official SHL Wrestling Rules ( Subject To Change ) - The SHL World Championship is given to the points scoring leader and will change hands only if a lead change takes place. - The SHL North American Championship is awarded to the points-scoring leader on a weekly basis. - The SHL Four Star Cup is awarded to the SMJHL points-scoring leader on a weekly basis. - The SHL Challenge Champion is awarded to the SHL points-scoring leader on a weekly basis. Thus, while the World Championship will compile the stats through the season, the North American title will reset every week. - If a wrestler has most points for more than one Championship, the second title will be awarded to the second points leader of the second title. if the second leader has a belt, the winner will be the third points-scoring leader. This there will no longer be 'Darby2Belts'. This is known as The Reznor Rule. Rule Update - Claude L'Castor being the only goalie, will have his wins and losses together + 10 points ( Was + 5 ) tallied in order to make things interesting. Also, because Kevin Owens is right, fight me. NEW Rule - Defensemen are given + 5 points to their tally in order to spice things up and make them ore competitive. Because I can! - The Two-Belt Rule, otherwise known as the Reznor Rule, doesn't apply to the Tag Team Championships. For the historians amongst you, here is the complete Championship history of SHL Wrestling. SEASON ONE World Championship Week 1 - Mercedes Bailé Week 2 - Darby Reznor Week 3 - N/A Week 4 - Darby Reznor Playoff 1 - Claude L'Castor North American Championship Week 1 - Darby Reznor Week 2 - Xavier Beausoleil Week 3 - N/A Week 4 - Xavier Beausoleil Playoff 1 - Mercedes Bailé Challenge Champion Week 1 - Xavier Beausoleil Week 2 - Mercedes Bailé Week 3 - N/A Week 4 - Mercedes Bailé Playoff 1 - John Peanut Four Star Championship Week 1 - Darby Reznor Week 2 - Drew McIntyre Week 3 - N/A Week 4 - Drew McIntyre Playoff 1 - Darby Reznor This wouldn't be an SHL Wrestling publication without some news! BREAKING: Claude L’Castor In Contract Dispute with Nevada Battleborn Over Wrestling Obligations Reports out of nevada suggest that SHL World Champion Claude L’Castor is butting heads with Battleborn management over his commitment to SHL Wrestling. Sources claim L’Castor wants more freedom to defend his championship legacy, while team officials worry about injury risks after his infamous "L'Castor Bomb" on a steel chair last season. With tensions rising, rumors are swirling that L’Castor may explore a trade to a more "wrestling-friendly" SHL team. JOE PRIMEAU HYPES HIMSELF UP, BUT NO ONE BELIEVES IT Vancouver Whalers’ Joe Primeau—or as he calls himself, Mr. Prime—recently took to social media claiming, “I will be the greatest hockey player and wrestler of all time. Remember the name.” A fellow SHL Wrestling Original, Darby Reznor, chimed in with a cryptic tweet: "You gotta actually do something before running your mouth, kid." DARRIN TURNER-YELL TO FULL COMMIT TO SHL WRESTLING? It's been three seasons since Darrin Turner-Yell was eligible for the SHL Draft, yet the left winger remains undrafted. Rumors say he is considering becoming a wrestler full time if no SHL teams signs him by the time he is no longer eligible to play in the SMJHL. More info later as this story develops. DARBY REZNOR CLAIMS HE’S “CARRYING” SHL WRESTLING, TAKES SHOT AT XAVIER BEAUSOLEIL Former two-time World Champion Darby Reznor is making waves again, this time calling himself “the backbone” of SHL Wrestling. In a recent interview, Reznor boasted: "No one’s done what I’ve done. No one’s won more than me. And Xavier Beausoleil? He wants to act like he's special because he won two North American Championships? Cute. But I've held two titles at the same time." This war of words has fueled speculation of a title vs. title match between the two men. HUNTER CROSS: THE NEXT BIG THING OR BIGGEST FLOP? Nevada Battleborn rookie Hunter Cross has been making bold claims, saying he will be "the most dominant force in both hockey and wrestling." However, SHL scouts have noted “his skills are raw” and that he “throws more punches than he takes shots.” Meanwhile, Cross has reportedly been training with Claude L’Castor in secret, which suggests he may be angling for an early entrance into SHL Wrestling. Could he follow in Darby Reznor’s footsteps and win gold early in his career? Or will he fade into obscurity before even stepping onto the ice? JOHN PEANUT “INVISIBLE” IN MATCHES—LITERALLY Current Challenge Champion John Peanut has become a viral meme in the SHL Wrestling community after footage surfaced of opponents failing to land strikes on him… because they can’t see him. Fans have dubbed this phenomenon "The Peanut Effect," leading to conspiracy theories about whether Peanut has actual invisibility powers or if it’s just years of wrestling psychology at its finest. Peanut’s uncanny ability to disappear mid-match has some fans calling for rule changes, while others insist he’s simply the smartest competitor in SHL Wrestling history. OGIE OGILTHORPE KNOCKS OUT REFEREE, CLAIMS IT WAS A “MISUNDERSTANDING” San Diego Tidal rookie defenseman Ogie Ogilthorpe was scheduled to appear as a special guest on a sports talk show in San Diego, a shocking turn when he accidentally knocked out the commentaror with a brutal right hook. Security quickly intervened, but Ogilthorpe insisted, "I thought he was dropping the gloves". SHL Wrestling officials are now debating whether to fine Ogilthorpe but admits his aggression "perfectly fits our brand." GAPPY HILMORE CHALLENGES ANYONE TO A HOCKEY FIGHT—IN THE RING San Diego Tidal rookie Gappy Hilmore has issued an open challenge to any SHL Wrestling star for a "pure hockey fight inside a wrestling ring." Hilmore is reportedly furious that traditional hockey fights only last 5 seconds before refs step in, and he wants to prove that hockey players can brawl just as long as wrestlers. So far, no one has accepted the challenge—though rumors emerged that Jake Paul may be interested. MERCEDES BAILé COULDN'T BE HAPPIER. ALOMST. Current North American Champion Mercedes Baylé is said to be quite pleased with her current status within SHL Wrestling, the defending back-to-back Challenge Cup Champion with the San Francisco Pride feels Golden and very proud of herself but admits that while the North American belt looks good on her there is one belt that would shine brighter over her shoulder '... and Claude L'Castor is staining it with his greasy hands!' ONE LAST THING!!! DO YOU WANT IN ON THIS? Any of you want to see themselves as part of this fun project of mine? I can accept a certain number of players to add to this wacky adventure and make things more fun. Two to six I feel would be idea so I can make at least one extra team and might even shuffle the cards of the existing teams depending of the squads the players play for. Let me know here on in PM's if you want to be added! You have until the end of pre-season! SO THAT'S IT FOLKS!! This completes the season preview for Season Two of SHL Wrestling! I have more surprises in store ahead of what promises to be a fun time ahead! Until then, tune in for the first episode of the season that will drop at the end of Week One!
