Hello everyone! Welcome again to a statistical summary of the defensive game, DPS index, which is at halfway of regular season. I remind you that datas you will read is sum of hits, takeaways and blocked shots. So let's see who individually leads.

01. Sven Holmberg - 250 - TOR (+1)
02. Fredrik Gronlund - 232 - SFP (+1)
03. Dieter Fruhstuck - 218 - MIN (-2)
04. Ho Lee-Smokes - 208 - CHI (+6)
05. Westley Kirkpatrick - 199 - CGY (+9)
05. Troy McClure III - 199 - NEW (+21)
07. Nostradamus - 199 - SFP (-2)
08. Ace Lightning - 198 - BAP (-1)
09. Pork Tenderloin - 192 - NEW (+20)
09. Slowpoke - 192 - BUF (=)
09. Crazy Tomato II - 192 - TOR (-5)

New England Wolfpack defenders made huge progress as Troy McClure IIII and Pork Tenderloin both reached into the top 10 in an astonishing rise over past week. Dieter Fruhstuck gave the lead to Sven Holmberg, while his teammate Crazy Tomato II hold his position in the best 10.

01. Fredrik Gronlund - 221 - SFP (+4)
02. Ho Lee-Smokes - 220 - CHI (-1)
03. Sven Holmberg - 214 - TOR (+21)
03. Westley Kirkpatrick - 214 - CGY (+5)
05. Troy McClure IIII - 212 - NEW (+18)
06. Simo Jaaskelainen - 210 - SEA (-2)
07. Pork Tenderloin - 207 - NEW (+7)
08. Slowpoke - 197 - BUF (-1)
09. Crazy Tomato II - 195 - TOR (-7)
10. Dieter Fruhstuck - 193 - MIN (=)
10. Kristian Seppanen - 193 - ATL (-1)

In this ranking I add the +/- balance to measure the effectiveness of defensive points. Fredrik Gronlund became the new leader. Sven Holmberg, which we saw in the first table, and Troy McClure IIII also made big gains. In the case of both rankings, there is also one similarity - Wolfpack and San Francisco Pride have two players each.

Hits + Takeaways + Blocks
01. TOR - 843 + 417 + 776 = 2036 (=)
02. NEW - 864 + 375 + 661 = 1900 (+8)
03. MAN - 830 + 390 + 661 = 1881 (+8)
04. SAN - 795 + 404 + 675 = 1874 (-2)
05. TAM - 820 + 362 + 649 = 1831 (+3)
06. SEA - 734 + 357 + 717 = 1808 (+1)
07. BAP - 713 + 343 + 736 = 1792 (-2)
08. BUF - 675 + 420 + 696 = 1791 (+8)
09. CHI - 680 + 358 + 742 = 1780 (+4)
09. NOL - 737 + 365 + 678 = 1780 (+8)
11. LAP - 752 + 398 + 594 = 1744 (+7)
12. ATL - 741 + 338 + 663 = 1742 (-9)
13. HAM - 784 + 315 + 620 = 1719 (-7)
14. PHI - 818 + 374 + 511 = 1703 (+5)
15. CGY - 785 + 315 + 587 = 1687 (-1)
16. TEX - 690 + 326 + 663 = 1679 (-12)
17. MTL - 750 + 350 + 565 = 1665 (-5)
18. WPG - 748 + 348 + 562 = 1658 (-3)
19. EDM - 740 + 409 + 432 = 1581 (+1)
20. MIN - 644 + 262 + 595 = 1501 (-11)

In team rankings, there are no changes at the top, where we find Toronto North Stars, who have slightly increased their advantage in comparison to previous week. Wolfpack also confirm their increased activity in defense, moving up to second place, and right behind them is Manhattan Rage, who were also quite effective last week. On the other hand, Texas Renegades and Minnestota Monarchs had the biggest let down, with Monarchs taking last place at halfway of regular season. Interestingly, it shows the contrast between the two weakest teams in the league at the moment, being at the opposite ends of the DPS table.
