Some of you remember the story of my youngest furbaby Garou, I talked about his situation last year and asked for help (I am still very grateful for the love and support you folks sent my way) and today I had the unfortunate and soul crushing task of sending my oldest boy over the rainbow bridge.

Chevreuil, 18 years of human age but 88 in cat ears, was slowly deteriorating due to gingivitis and yesterday I found blood in his urine.
When I saw the vet this afternoon, he found something worse - A tumor. Unfortunately, since I was laid off for corporate restructuring and haven't found work since, I didn't have the means to try to save him so I had to make the hardest call I ever made in my life. I did it while he still had a decent quality of life, and crossed peacefully.

I figured some of you would like to know, even if this is some terrible news.
But while I am crying like a 43 year old child, I remember words of wisdom a man once told me: Don't mourn the death, celebrate the life.
And that is exactly what I'm going to do.

Doesn't make it easier for the moment, but still.

My condolences, bubby. A pet is always a treasured part of a family, but at least the little fella wasn't going to suffer and lived a long cat life.

Been there myself very recently, its so tough but you are right those good memories are what really matter
