A close up part one
#1

A couple of seasons we posted a bed room mock draft from a couple of junior players. These young have joined the SHL and are not really rookies anymore.
So we decided to do a sort of sequel. We will take a look at the lives of the men and woman behind the players. This edition we will take a look in their amazing homes and show you how the SHL lives and you can believe me there are some real beauties out there. In our upcoming editions we will discuss some weird hobbies and much more...

The first stop we make is at one of the houses of Tuomas Vitikka. This young left winger is the owner of 3 houses. The first is just a small apartment in West Kendall.

This is where he spends a lot of time during the season. It doesn't really look that fancy. When you enter the apartment you have the kitchen and living room and then his bedroom and bathroom.

The second house that he owns is not a house and it isn't really his. He just rents a skyloft in the MGM Grand Hotel the entire year. That way he can always hop on his private jet for a quick trick to the gambling capital.

But gambling is a risky business you might say. Not for this guy. He actually pays the rent of his suite with the money he wins at the tables. When it comes to gambling lady luck is right by his side. The skyloft in on the top floor of the MGM grand and comes with a 24 hour butler.

But the piece de resistance is his holiday home. During the off season Thomas needs rest and clear his head. Vegas isn't the best place for that so he bought himself a house that is a bit more remote.

We don't have any pictures of the house interior, there was just no way I was willing to cross that bridge to his house.

Vitikka isn't the only SHL player who owns multiple homes, most of them own two houses. But there is one with a real obsession of houses and that is Dave Smith. But as you could have guessed something is a bit off with these houses otherwise they wouldn't be in here.

Dave has a big fascination with the world beyond the living. When he was younger he always felt that the house he lived in wasn't only occupied by his family.

So he started looking for more places that had that same feeling. The first house he bought was actually a haunted house that was on the brink of being destroyed. The people who lived there felt there was something "bad" was living there and the only way they saw to stop it was to destroy it. Smith made them an offer they couldn't refuse so the house was saved.

It wouldn't last long for the second house was added to the list. That was again a house he saved. When visiting Scotland he stayed at a haunted hotel and while talking to the owners he heard that they had to sell it because money was tight. Dave saved the day again and he bought the hotel on the condition that couple would remain there.

At the moment Dave owns 6 haunted houses and hotels and we are sure that a couple more houses will be added to the list real soon.

But the one with the most beautiful house is Nugent-Hall.

He has a passion for shells and turned his passion into his home. It took a long time building and designing the house but it is finally done and we got an exclusive look. we were just stunned when we came up to his house...

but when we saw the inside of his home it literally took our breath away.

When you enter the house, the first room you find is the living room. Here you won't find a big LCD or the newest hi-fi system but pure nature. The seats are shaped like a flower and are surrounded by different plants. We first thought these weren't real but Nugent-Hall insisted we touched it. And it was real.

The sky windows open so there is enough light and fresh air coming trough and he has a gardener in service to maintain his little piece of heaven.

Upstairs you can find a large bedroom and the bathroom. We weren't allowed in the kitchen because it was a mess. He hadn't had time to clean it after his housewarming party.

The last house that we wanted to share with you is a property of David Winter.

Winter has invested in a apartment complex. Instead of making it modern he gave the building a special look.

The building has a really old feeling and is painted red. The tiny windows make it look like on old monastery and when you expect dark interiors with those small windows the apartments are amazingly bright. But the red paint and windows aren't what make this building so special....

The building is protected by a giant Chinese dragon, wrapped around the building.

But enough houses for now, in our next edition we will speak about some intresting hobbies of our favorite SHL players
