Day 66
Montreal Impact :impact: at Falcons Detroit Falcons
Now, this game was a high-scoring game. We’ll get you caught up with the details, right now. The first period was all Detroit. Six minutes in, Mikko Kalash gets a loose puck and he scores. Just over a minute after, off the faceoff Showron scores. 2-0 Falcons after the first period of play. Just one minute into the second, “Kenton Kane with the shot rebound scores! Jānis Vītols makes it 3-0 Detroit…” and a 3-0 lead for Detroit. But this shutout didn’t stay for the whole game as with 5 minutes left in the second, George Costanza tries to get his team back into it as he scores. When I said that Costanza tries I mean it because with under a minute left to play in the second, Kalash scores his second of the game to end Jam Scruffy’s night as Dymo Ranjan comes in to replace him. To the third period we go, 5 goals were scored in this period so sit down and watch. 3 minutes into the third, Clyde Arrowny cuts the lead to 2 as he makes it 4-2 Detroit. Detroit did answer back because exactly 30 seconds later Teemu Smulander makes it 5-2 Detroit. Five minutes later, Daniel Acker scores to cut the lead back to 2. This time, Detroit didn’t answer back as with 2 minutes left in the game, Montreal scores to make it 5-4 Detroit. Detroit would add another goal a minute later to finish the game with a win. 6-4 your final score.

Kelowna Knights Knights at Whalers Vancouver Whalers
The Kelowna Knights are making a last minute comeback as they are getting so many winning streaks. That shows that Kelowna has a team of hard workers. If Kelowna can continue this, they might get home-ice advantage against the Regina Force. They are just 6 points off of the Force. They can have 3 wins, 2 wins and 2 OT losses, or 1 win and 4 OT losses. That will just tie it. But today, they are facing the Vancouver Whalers. The Vancouver Whalers have been losing to the Kelowna Knights, can this Kelowna luck continue?
We pick it up in the second period with about a minute and a half gone by. Ingus Grigorjevs scores his 14 goal off a rebound. Just 31 seconds later, Vancouver in the offensive zone with King winning the faceoff. Toews shot denied, Toews shot again denied, but Smulans takes care of the rebound and puts it in the back of the net. Halfway through the frame, Tyler Guest skates with puck and he scores. 3-0 Whalers and it’s only second. That second period would do it as the Vancouver Whalers beat the Knights in a crucial game for the Knights. If Regina wins, this is over and Kelowna is a third place team automatically.

Regina Force :force: at Scarecrows St. Louis Scarecrows
If Regina wins this, Kelowna is in third for sure. We skip to the early second period as Regina wins a faceoff from their own zone, runs up the ice and I think you know what happens next,
“...Regina comes into the St. Louis zone, Cleghorn shoots and he scores! 1-0 Regina” Just 10 minutes later, the same thing happens but Kovalchuk scores to make it 2-0. 2 minutes after that, Cunningham takes a missed shot by Cleghorn and scores! 3-0 and that’s how it would end so the West Division is set but not the East as we see you next time!
Good night Folks!

Day 67
St. Louis Scarecrows Scarecrows at :impact: Montreal Impact
Just 1 game to recap today so let’s get this started. St. Louis is facing Montreal to get seeding in place for the playoffs. We pick it up halfway through the first period as Dresnar scores to make it 1-0 Montreal. But St. Louis would answer back quickly as 8 seconds later, Joshua Botelho scores to tie the score up at 1. Ryan Sullivan takes a minor penalty for High-sticking, but that should have been a major completely reckless just lucky he isn’t bleeding. On the power play, Charlie Schenn makes it 2-1 Montreal. The scoring does not stop there though. Aaron Brown takes a trip to the penalty box for Hooking. Then, Ryan Sullivan can join Brown in the penalty box as he goes in for Interference. On the 2 man advantage, Costanza scores to make it 3-1 Montreal. Both teams would add a goal as Montreal takes it 4-2.

Day 68
Vancouver Whalers Whalers at :force: Regina Force
Nothing happened in the first period that was exciting so let’s pick it up in the second. Granger beats King to win the faceoff and Grigorjevs shoots and he scores. 1-0 Whalers. With under 2 minutes left in the frame though, Granger takes a wild shot and you can fins that puck in the back of Pfosten’s net. 1-1. Third solves nothing so take a drink! Like the third period, OT solves nothing so on to the shootout. Whalers to shoot first. Smulens’ shot misses the net. Zerchai’s shot though scores. Toews, Granger and King miss the net so Regina wins 2-1 in a shootout.

Detroit Falcons Falcons at Knights Kelowna Knights
This game is not important at all to either teams as Kelowna is already locked in and Detroit is in first so let’s get down to business and show some highlights. Jan Cross takes a penalty 2 minutes into the game and that penalty lets LeMeul the Second score to make it 1-0 Detroit. Craig Stewart Junior took a penalty for Slashing and Jan Cross scores on the power play to tie the game at one. With under a minute left in the first period, Žanis Zariņš of the Detroit Falcons scores to let the Falcons regain their 1 goal lead. Etou, Sippola and Luther score to make a 4-2 comeback as Kelowna wins this one.

Don’t forget, tomorrow the top 2 teams in the SMJHL, the Falcons and the Whalers, face each other. Don’t miss it, coverage starts at 8 EDT/5 PDT on the SMJHL Network.
