Games 5-7

Knights at Whalers

In this game, we saw the Kelowna Knights take on the Vancouver Whalers. Kelowna took to the scoresheet first, scoring just eleven seconds into the game! Moosejaw Boudreau scored on a clean breakaway with assists from Modano and Jaks. It's a wonder how he even got free! In the second period, Keith Trubachev (dubbed Truba by the fans) extended the lead to 2-0. Sterling Knight then cut the lead in half, as he scored on a beautiful one timer in the high slot about sixteen minutes into the second. This seemed to be the turning point in the game, as Vancouver would come back to strike decisively in the third. There were goals by Robinson, twice, and Hill, as the Whalers completed the comeback to win 4-2. What a nice game to play in front of their home crowd. Marty McFly played a solid game for Vancouver as he stopped 22 of 24 shots.

:impact: at Scarecrows

This game started off great for the home team as the team's newest member, Seth Ryder, scored after an awesome passing play between him and Derek Underscore. The second period continued to show to be in St. Louis' favour as Ryder scored his second of the game, just two minutes into the period on a clear breakaway. Recent number one overall pick, Stacker Pentacost scored just four minutes later, from the point, to push the lead to 3-0. Seven minutes later, rookie Steve Linkos scored his first of the season to bring the 'Crows ahead by four. In the third period, the Impact finally found themselves on the scoresheet as Jeffrey Baker scored his first of the season. Noah Jackson was an under appreciated player in this game as he stood tall for St. Louis, stopping 26 of 27 shots on his way to his second career SMJHL victory.

1 - Seth Ryder (STL)
2 - Noah Jackson (STL)
3 - Jeffrey Baker (MTL)

Falcons at :force:

The high flying Falcons found themselves in Regina in a matinee classic. Brandon Pomery scored to open up the game in favour of the home team, just under three minutes into the game. Ten minutes later, Clay Parker and Barney Tuzis found themselves scoring for Detroit just nine seconds apart! It shocked the crowd! Christian Blauch scored his first of the season just before the end of the period to bring the game back level heading into the second period. The second period scoring was started by Detroit as Four-Byrde found the back of the net for the second time this season. And again, just before the end of the period, the Force were able to bring the game back even , this time at 3-3 after a nice goal from Edge Ochocinco. The third period was all in favour of the home team Kovalchuk scored six minutes into the frame. Three minutes left in the game, and Marushin put the puck in the Falcons net to seal the deal. Neither goalie was outstanding as both goaltenders failed to maintain a save percentage above .900.

2 - Edge Ochocinco (RGF)
3 - Brandon Pomery (RGF)
