Local journalists have spotted the Uk prospect sleeping in his car outside the practice rink. Is he putting to much strain on his body from the constant practice? Is he gaining much benefit from the extra time at the gym? We caught up with the young goalie during a short break.
1. Lee, you've gotta tell us what's prompted this spurt leading up to the draft? "Well tbh I've been slacking up to this draft and it hit me a few nights ago, This is my one chance at the big time here I'm not about to let it slip through my fingers. I'm out here to prove to the scouts I'm for them I'm realise I'm likely playing for a back up spot here and that may put off some goalies till next year, it just makes me want to fight harder for every second I have here." 2. Are the rumours of the ten hour practices true? "No but it's not far off tbh if I'm not in the gym, eating or sleeping. I'm out here waiting for some net time practice. I'm making sure not to over do there is no point in even turning up if I'm injured going into draft. Saying that tho I'm gonna drag every ounce of talent and skill out of my body that I can here." 3. Have you noticed any major improvement? "I've gotta say I have, I'm feeling a lot more awake than previously and my leg strength has definetly improved. Still gonna work to get better but it's a work in progress leading up to the draft" 4. One last question, anything you want to say to the scouts watching your performance? "If you draft me this is what your buying into, this comitment from day one to the championship. I'll give everything I have for your team Alsong as I'm there" Thank you for your time 319 words |
