This will come as a surprise for people. But it shouldn’t. Jackie Lee should be inducted into the Hall of Fame, simply for being a legend.
While Benoit Charlebois never liked to bring this fact up… Jackie Lee likely has the record for most games played consecutively without scoring a goal (having not scored for the first three seasons of his career). While never a beast offensively he managed to lead the Manhattan Rage in scoring during the horrible S15 season. But his biggest claim to fame is his five appearances in the Challenge Cup Finals! Jackie Lee made the finals in S10 and 12 with the Winnipeg Jets (losing both times), in S13 with Manhattan (losing again), in S17 he helped the Toronto North Stars make their first Challenge Cup final appearance in franchise history (but he did lose there too)… before finally breaking the curse in S20 when he won a Challenge Cup with the Texas Renegades. Many Hall of Fame players do not have Jackie Lee’s credentials. Having led his team in hits + scoring in a season… 5 Challenge Cup Appearances… and of course being the single most feared goon in the entire SHL for TWELEVE SEASONS! That’s right. Jackie Lee was the single best goon over the past twelve seasons of his career. No one could touch a member of his team without being struck down by simple fear of Jackie Lee’s fists! He obviously played a huge role in helping teams win! If his goonery wasn’t important he wouldn’t have made five cup final appearances!
Therefore, given his team success and having the title of best goon of the decade… Jackie Lee should be inducted into the Hall of Fame.
