<div align="center">I needed some money, so I am going to do a redraft of the S23 Entry Draft which took place in Toronto, Ontario, Canada.
----------------------------------------------------------------- Round 1 1. Toronto North Stars - Actual Pick: David Benson TPE: 643 S24 SHL Stats: 9 Goals, 12 assists, 21 points / -8 / 6 hits / 7 PIM Should have been: David Benson TPE: 643 S24 SHL Stats: 9 Goals, 12 assists, 21 points / -8 / 6 hits / 7 PIM Reasoning: I really think Benson was the right pick with the first overall pick. They could have gone with Alexandersen, but I think Benson is a guy that definitely puts in the effort to be a franchise player for the Toronto North Stars. He had a pretty good season for the North Stars last year racking up 21 points. I think there is definitely a lot more to see from Benson and definitely Jman made the right selection here. ----------------------------------------------------------------- 2. West Kendall Platoon (via Hamilton Steelhawks) - Actual Pick: Viktor Svensson TPE: 584 S24 SHL Stats: 5 goals, 19 assists, 24 pints / +6 / 88 hits / 117 PIM Should have been: Asbjørn Alexandersen TPE: 657 S24 SHL Stats: 6 goals, 11 asissts, 17 points / -6 / 12 hits / 2 PIM Reasoning: I definitely think Alexandersen should have been the pick at number two. Alexandersen has stud and franchise player written all over him. They should have absolutely gone with the sure guy in this spot rather than taking Svensson even though defense could have been a need. I think he would have fit in very well in West Kendall and would have been a franchise piece next to Jed Lloren, Zallerras Szerlechek and Ivo Willems. Svensson had a good year for the Platoon, but in the future, I think Alexandersen is going to be a lot better player. ----------------------------------------------------------------- 3. Texas Renegades - Actual Pick: Asbjørn Alexandersen TPE: 657 S24 SHL Stats: 6 goals, 11 asissts, 17 points / -6 / 12 hits / 2 PIM Should have been: Bryce Collins TPE: 631 S24 SHL Stats: 4 goals, 13 assists, 17 points / -17 / 43 hits / 6 PIM Reasoning: There is no doubt that one of the sleepers in this draft so far has to be Bryce Collins (not to toot my own horn). Collins had a decent season as he started out on the 3rd line and ended up ending the season with a comfortable spot on the second line. The major statistic that really needs to change is that -17. I think Collins would have fit perfectly with the Texas Renegades. ----------------------------------------------------------------- 4. Calgary Dragons - Actual Pick: Fernando Pergher TPE: 598 S24 SHL Stats: 3 goals, 14 assists, 17 points / -5 / 69 hits / 86 PIM Should have been: Fernando Pergher Reasoning: I also think Pergher was the correct choice here for a team needing defense. They could have gone with Svensson, but I like Pergher and what he brings to the team. Svensson had a better year than Pergher last year, but if Pergher can stay on the ice, I definitely think he can be a much better player. I see the desire to be better in Pergher's game that I am not too sure I see in Svensson's game. Luckily, they have back to back picks, so they can take both of these guys. ----------------------------------------------------------------- 5. Calgary Dragons (via Minnesota Chiefs) - Actual Pick: Michael Boychuk TPE: 583 S24 SHL Stats: 1 goal, 13 assists, 14 points / -5 / 53 hits / 32 PIM Should have been: Viktor Svensson TPE: 584 S24 SHL Stats: 5 goals, 19 assists, 24 pints / +6 / 88 hits / 117 PIM Reasoning: Another guy that really needs to find a way to stay on the ice is Viktor Svensson. I think he would have been a great pick to take with the 5th overall pick as many projected him higher and he did end up going higher. Boychuk is a great player and I think he could definitely end up being a top 4 dman for a long time, but I think Svensson's knowledge and veteran presence would have really helped the Calgary Dragons. I think you could not go wrong with either Boychuk or Svensson, but I definitely lean towards Svensson. ----------------------------------------------------------------- 6. Toronto North Stars (via Seattle Riot) - Actual Pick: Bjorn Knutsen TPE: 443 S24 SHL Stats: Not in the SHL Should have been: Vladamir Lindstrom TPE: 621 S24 SHL Stats: 0 goals, 0 assists, 0 points / +1 / 0 hits / 0 PIM Reasoning: With their other targets off the board, the North Stars would have to go to the next best option and I think that option was Vladamir Lindstrom. Even though he did not notch a single point for the Renegades last year, Lindstrom was definitely someone who was working hard to try to get to the top. I think this guy is very often overlooked in the S23 Draft just because of guys like Alexandersen and David Benson really overshadow the guys that work hard and do everything except put up points. This guy is definitely ready to make an impact and putting him beside someone like Scherbluk would have been great for his game. ----------------------------------------------------------------- 7. New England Wolfpack - FORFEITED ----------------------------------------------------------------- 8. Winnipeg Jets - Actual Pick: Bryce Collins TPE: 631 S24 SHL Stats: 4 goals, 13 assists, 17 points / -17 / 43 hits / 6 PIM Should have been: Michael Boychuk TPE: 583 S24 SHL Stats: 1 goal, 13 assists, 14 points / -5 / 53 hits / 32 PIM Reasoning: I think the Jets made out like bandits with their actual selection, but with him off the board, they will need to go another route. Michael Boychuk, in my opinion, is the next best player that is available. He is a solid defender who will put you on your butt and then find himself in the assist column at the end of the game. I think Boychuk works hard to make himself better and having him available at #9 is very good for any team. I would take him here and not look back. ----------------------------------------------------------------- 9. Texas Renegades (via West Kendall Platoon) - Actual Pick: Vladimir Lindstrom TPE: 621 S24 SHL Stats: 0 goals, 0 assists, 0 points / +1 / 0 hits / 0 PIM Should have been: Slappy McDoodle TPE: 511 S24 SHL Stats: 6 goals, 2 assists, 8 points / -6 / 101 hits / 63 PIM Reasoning: The biggest jumper of this re-draft is the likes of Slappy McDoodle. I think Hans Ponsen is a good player, I just question his work ethic and dedication as he has only earned 449 TPE while McDoodle has over 50 points more than him. I think a guy like McDoodle has the chance to go inactive, but he has been coming back strong with his practice hours. McDoodle can definitely score if given the chance and I think he would have made for a better pick here. ----------------------------------------------------------------- 10. Edmonton Blizzard - Actual Pick: Hans Ponsen TPE: 449 S24 SHL Stats: 0 goals, 6 assists, 6 points / +0 / 72 hits / 30 PIM Should have been: Butch Buckley TPE: 459 S24 SHL Stats: 3 goals, 5 assists, 8 points / -19 / 100 hits / 47 PIM Reasoning: I think Buckley is one of the guys that really makes this draft a fun draft. His personality in the locker room is really like no other and that is what makes him special. Buckley would fit in on any 3rd line or even top 6 if they need a big hitting presence to run more of a HAG time of game. I think he would have been a great pick here. ----------------------------------------------------------------- 11. Los Angeles Panthers - Actual Pick: Toms Berkis TPE: 294 S24 SHL Stats: Not in the SHL Should have been: Erik Lundqvist TPE: 525 S24 SHL Stats: 1-3-2, 4.06 GAA, .859 Save %, 0 shutouts Reasoning: Let's jump ahead a couple picks as the Panthers will take Lundqvist here rather than giving the Riot a chance to get him. I think Lundqvist really is going to be the next best thing once given the chance. He has the ability and dedication to be a top goaltender in the SHL, it will just take him time. His record last year really should not speak for what kind of talent this guy has. I expect him to turn it around very quickly and LA should not be too worried if Weekes decides to takes his talents elsewhere as they have a very solid goalie just waiting to take over. ----------------------------------------------------------------- 12. Seattle Riot (via Manhattan Rage) - Actual Pick: MÄrtiņš Ziepiņš TPE: 503 S24 SHL Stats: 1 goal, 11 assists, 12 points / +0 / 17 hits / 0 PIM Should have been: MÄrtiņš Ziepiņš Reasoning: Ziepiņš is a fine pick here with the last pick of the first round. I think there are a couple other guys that they could have taken, but Seattle took a guy with some success in his rookie year and a guy that seems to have some dedication to the league and the drive to get better. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Round 2 13. Los Angeles Panthers (via Toronto North Stars) - Actual Pick: Erik Lundqvist TPE: 525 S24 SHL Stats: 1-3-2, 4.06 GAA, .859 Save %, 0 shutouts Should have been: Connor O'Reilly TPE: 501 S24 SHL Stats: 2 goals, 18 assist / 20 points / -1 / 104 hits / 66 PIM ----------------------------------------------------------------- 14. New England Wolfpack (via Hamilton Steelhawks) - Actual Pick: Butch Buckley TPE: 459 S24 SHL Stats: 3 goals, 5 assists, 8 points / -19 / 100 hits / 47 PIM Should have been: Ausy Willison (Now Nazar Nichuskin) TPE: 483 S24 SHL Stats: 5 goals, 2 assists, 7 points / -8 / 36 hits / 12 PIM ----------------------------------------------------------------- 15. Seattle Riot (via Texas Renegades) - Actual Pick: Dr. Timeturner Whooves TPE: 323 S24 SHL Stats: Not in the SHL Should have been: Hans Ponsen TPE: 449 S24 SHL Stats: 0 goals, 6 assists, 6 points / +0 / 72 hits / 30 PIM ----------------------------------------------------------------- 16. Calgary Dragons - Schnitinfritz Jagr ----------------------------------------------------------------- 17. Toronto North Stars (via Los Angeles Panthers, via Minnesota Chiefs) - Actual Pick: PÃ¥l Vikingstød TPE: 395 S24 SHL Stats: Not in the SHL Should have been: PÃ¥l Vikingstød ----------------------------------------------------------------- 18. West Kendall Platoon (via Seattle Riot) - Actual Pick: Slappy McDoodle TPE: 511 S24 SHL Stats: 6 goals, 2 assists, 8 points / -6 / 101 hits / 63 PIM Should have been: Bjorn Knutsen TPE: 443 S24 SHL Stats: Not in the SHL ----------------------------------------------------------------- 19. New England Wolfpack - Actual Pick: Connor O'Reilly TPE: 501 S24 SHL Stats: 2 goals, 18 assist / 20 points / -1 / 104 hits / 66 PIM Should have been: Dr. Timeturner Whooves TPE: 323 S24 SHL Stats: Not in the SHL ----------------------------------------------------------------- 20. Winnipeg Jets - Actual Pick: Shane O'Ferghall TPE: 251 S24 SHL Stats: Not in the SHL Should have been: The Carl Mountain TPE: 328 S24 SHL Stats: 0 goals, 1 assist, 1 point / +3 / 3 hits / 6 PIM ----------------------------------------------------------------- 21. Calgary Dragons (via West Kendall Platoon) - Actual Pick: Liam Neeson TPE: 216 S24 SHL Stats: Not in the SHL Should have been: Toms Berkis TPE: 294 S24 SHL Stats: Not in the SHL ----------------------------------------------------------------- 22. Thanks for the kind words. :D Just to set the record straight, I have been active in both a baseball and a boxing sim since 2003 and 2005 respectively and plan to be here for a long time.
