So first question is for you guys... Assistant Captain? (I think this is a Canadian thing?) OR Alternate Captain? Ryan King will be available for questions regarding S25 Draft, Pre-season, regular season, and being named Assistant Captain. Ryan king - Id like to thank Gm Cuffy and Co-Gm bbp for the opportunity I will not let you down and I plan to do everything in my power this season to bring a 4 star cup home to St. Louis, without further ado I will open the floor to questions and comments. What does it mean to you to be an alternate captain of your junior team? Ryan king - It means a great deal to me, I started this season with one main goal in mind, take the crows to a 4 star cup final and bring the cup home to St. Louis. I know what is needed from myself as an individual for this to happen and i intend to do all that I can to help our team reach this goal. The A on my jersey re-affirms my beliefs and gives me an added bit of determination to achieve my goals. It shows me my team believes in me and that give me so much confidence out there on the ice. Do you see your team making a deep playoff run this year? Ryan king - Biased answer YES, unbiased answer still YES, I think we are contenders for sure we need redemption after last season everyone is hungry and I can feel it. I see it on the ice and off these are some of the most determined guys you will find in the SHL that alone helps me to believe we will make a deep playoff run and even walk home with a 4 star cup! Any long term SHL goals? Ryan king - I am very please with my new SHL home in Seattle, i hope to be there as long as possible as i love the people and the beautiful city. Long term SHL goals would definitely be; Make starting lineup, score first regular season goal, Get a hat trick, Have a multi point game streak, and be names top RW in a season. These are some of my more attainable goals that i will expect to reach with in a couple seasons. really long term would be win a MVP, win a challenge cup, get nominated into HHOF have jersey retired. Do you look up to any SHL players? If so, who? Ryan king - I definitely look up to players such as Winter, Nikitin, Burton, Bojo, Prettyburn and Baller. This is extremely biased as most are Riot players. To be honest I haven't met too many SHL'ers prior to entering the SHL I have met recreates and such but in terms of a SHL player that I look up too I think those guys and gals are perfect, they don't cause too much shit, they are determined to better their players and others and are just all around awesome guys and girls. Your favorite part of THIS season in St.Louis? Ryan king -Well a highlight is definitely being names assistant captain that was amazing! Another highlight is breaking my points record from last season *laughs although that wasn't to hard to do! Its always nice to see the new SMJHL rookies coming into the dressing room showing them the ropes I haven't been on that side before and it was nice in a different way Does Chef Hart believe the 'Crows have the necessary ingredients for a 4Star Cup Championship? Ryan king - Yea of course I do! Windsor will lead the way, we picked up some great new talent in Cook, and Troy those guys will pull through huge for us! also picking up barney was a great call by GM cuffy as he has been preforming all season. I think we currently have a very good chance of taking home the cup we just need to stay above .500 and get back to back wins for once! Tell us what you know about The Riot's Plan for SHL DOMINATION, and where you fit in? Ryan king - I don't know about this "plan" you are talking about I've seen head office you the eenie meenie miney mo method of setting lines as well as the good old Dart board method. We all get together at the bar at the end of each week and post a roster on a dart board we each take turn tossing a dart at the roaster and we set the lines based on who is hit first with the dart! I guess i fit into that plan because i had a chance to toss a dart I hit Karl and he had to play on the 4th line that week, I'm not sure if I helped the team out or not...oh well it sure was fun and we all got hammered! Since you and Cook will be working with New Captain Winston Windsor.. A.)Has the team obtained a step ladder for him to give pregame talks from?..Which of you is the designated ladder keeper? Ryan king - Yea we actually all nominated Troy you know the new guy hes the step stool...Anytime Windsor need to make a speech we make troy get down on his hands and knees (giggidy) and Windsor steps up onto his back and makes his announcements. I guess that makes the designated ladder keeper troys mom... what a saint. B.) Have you started studying up on WWE trivia Ryan king - Umm honestly no... Although i should be all my teammates are huge wrestling fans. I sometimes feel left out when they break out into wresting talk. Although id rather not compete in Cuffys backyard brawl that they all get together and do once a month. Personally I think they all just like throwing on tights while they roll around and grope each other....but hey like I always say "to each their own" I took the picture above at my first and last visit to Cuffy's "Backyard Brawl" as you can see Windsor is clearly giving it to French as he gets pinned to the mat...Not my scene man...But I love those guys like family so all the power to them! Biggest steal in the SMJHL Draft? Ryan king - This was a deep draft and there were so many solid guys and girls taken in the third round. I think anyone who was drafted in the third round is a steal. Usually picking a slim come round 3 but this time around there were some solid selection in the third round still. How hard do you think it was to be drafted? Ryan king - Well it wasn't really hard i mean i sat there and they called my name and i walked up an threw the jersey on, it was the best day of my life! Unless I'm misunderstanding the question and it is intended to be about leaving the crows and playing for the Riot. Now I know that will be hard, i love all the guys in St. Louis and I will be in touch there forever I know that for sure. It will be hard to leave but I know it needs to happen to better my career. Those guys will always be Family though!! Advice to rookies? Ryan king - Stay active is always number one! stay up to date with current news and issues in the SHL BUT do not get sucked into unnecessary thunderdome's or shitstorms keep a low profile but not so low that you go un-noticed. Be kind respectful and help everyone you can because what goes around comes around and with this site you get what you give! Thanks for your questions! [1302 Words]
