Good morning SHL! On behalf of the Head Office, I have two simple rule clarifications for you today. These are things that came up recently and we wanted to get resolved for the future.

Equipment:

There was a bit of confusion this season about how late is too late for equipment purchases for a season. While everyone had an idea in their head of when the turnover for a "new" season was, there wasn't actually anything on the books that clarified this.

With that in mind, we're looking to resolve this issue in the future with the following ruling, effective immediately:

Code:
Equipment for the upcoming season can be purchased as soon as the "you may now retire" message is posted. This is the start of the new season. Equipment for the previous season can be purchased up until the draft.

Our thought process with the difference in timing is that this gives a few days leeway if someone was planning to buy equipment and forgot, especially since the "you may now retire" post can't be predicted without knowing the outcome of playoff series.

Activity Checks:
This hasn't been too much of a problem in the past, but recently people have been posting activity checks far too early for the following week. We talked about a few possible ways to resolve this, including possibly limiting the posting of activity checks to certain members. Instead, we've opted to go a slightly different route.

Code:
Activity Checks cannot be posted before midnight Eastern. Anyone breaking this rule will be subject to a fine of $1,000,000 and will not be able to claim TPE from that week's activity check even after it is posted properly.

Hopefully this resolves the issue we've been having recently with people posting activity check threads too early. This is less of a functional change and more of a refining of the rules, as the threads were already supposed to be posted at this time.
