The Raiders celebrated their win at home for a day before having to pack their bags for a two games road-trip. Their first stop was the Pacific Coliseum, rink of the Vancouver Whalers. They knew the team hosting them would be looking for a revenge after losing the previous game.

The first period was owned by Vancouver for both goals and penalty. Not even two minutes into the game, Chippy Chiclets sent one of the Raiders player in the board, earning himself a two minutes into the box. A bit after seven minutes in the game, it was the turn of the fiery defenseman Kikkoman to head for the sin bin when he received a Roughing penalty. Fortunately for the Whalers, It was Shirou who took the game in hands and slotted the puck behind FourFour Jr.

The second period was ruled by the indiscipline of the Raiders. They received six penalty in a row before the middle of the period. Grogan was the first to fall under the referee’s ire when he got caught tripping a Whalers. Then, Marino was seen cross-checking barely a minute after the end of Grogan’s penalty. Around six minutes into the period, McCarthy insisted a bit too much when trying to slow down one of Vancouver player and was sent in the sin bin for Holding. Trucker Grogan didn’t learn his lesson after his first penalty and the referees gave him a 2 minutes when they thought he was too rough while sending his message to the other team. Until then, the penalty kill unit of the Raiders stayed strong, however the tides turned when Klozoff received a penalty for Hooking. A few seconds after he was sent in the box Odjick was finally able to beat Halifax goaltender and gained a 2-0 lead. There was more penalty in the period when Wyder and Kikkoman got in an altercation. Wyder was sent in the box for Hooking but was able to bring down Kikkoman with him when he was sanctioned with a Roughing call.

The third period wasn’t better for the referee who had to deal with the fiery competition between the two teams. Seven minutes into the last leg of the game, it was Ødegård’s turn to end in the sin bin, after Holding one of the Raiders player. Five minutes later, Ouellette was seen Slashing one of Halifax player. Boyka Jr. was able to give a bit of hope to his team when he pushed a puck behind MacCockener, but the Raiders weren’t able to find their momentum. Every hope disapeared for Halifax when Ted Glass was punished with a double minor with barely three minutes into the game. The Raiders weren’t able to keep the momentum of their last game agains the Whalers and had to leave the rink with their head down.

The unsung hero of the match for the Raiders was Jordin FourFour. Jr. The defeat was not due to his performance on the ice. The netminder was able to block 30 of the 32 shots directed toward him. He stayed strong during the second period when he faced a total of 16 shots while his team was sent in the sin bin six time during that 20 minutes.
