McFadden on the way out?
#1

Michael McFadden and the Seattle Riot have been having their worst season to date since the goaltender has joined the team back in S29. McFadden is currently the top goaltender on paper, thriving at over 1550 TPE and being completely maxed out. However, that has not helped his season at all, being outside the top half of the leagues goaltenders in every main statistical category. A direct correlation with McFadden's stats, are his team's stats. The Seattle Riot are looking to finish in a lottery position this season, currently last in the West and formally announcing to everyone that they are entering a rebuild.

So with his team doing terrible, his play suffering and his level of skill, can it be that Seattle would move their star goaltender? With recent moves, Seattle has proven that anyone can go. Patrick Brumm, Jack Burton, David Benson, Justs Sirmais are all examples of players who have recently been shipped out of Seattle for younger players and draft picks.

However, Michael McFadden has a No Trade Clause in his contract, and he seems to be selective on where he would end up playing, if Seattle considered moving him.

Michael McFadden has been quoted saying;

"I have been in talks with the boss, and he has informed me that we are entering a rebuild and he will be looking to shop me around, to see what kind of return the Riot would generate from moving me. I can confirm that I will move my NTC for certain teams, and I won't for others. However, I AM NOT, demanding a trade, I am very happy to remain with the team that drafted me, and help them through the rebuild."

So there you have it, the Seattle Riot are shopping Michael McFadden, and if a team he's willing to go to, is willing to pay the right price, we could see the biggest name in goaltending change teams this off-season.

Interview Mike, you say you are more than willing to stick around with the Riot and help them through the rebuild, do you feel that you can still win your first cup with Seattle?

I do, Seattle has a great young team here, and with the right additions and a strong commitment we could build something great.

Interview Do you feel as though a team just entering a rebuild, will be ready in time for you?

We've been half and half the past few years, afraid to fully step into the rebuild and giving our guys a couple more shots at the cup. We felt we had the team to compete, but we knew our window was coming to a close. So the past GMs put the pieces in place to start planning for the future, and for these reasons I feel Seattle has a stable core in place already, and it's just about adding to it, and watching it blossom.

Interview What kind of time line do you expect it will take for the Riot to contend for a cup again?

I won't sit here and pretend I know what will happen, it could be as early as a season or 2 or it could never happen. If guys keep turning out like Trevor Wilson and Corey Knouse turned out, we will be back at it very soon. If we get some more Justs Sirmais then it might take longer. One things for sure though, at the rate I have been developing, I still have 3 seasons before I start to regress, and I will have a ton of banked TPE to fight regression for another 3 seasons while remaining maxed out, and then much longer at a competitive build. So Seattle has plenty of time.

Interview What parts of the team do you think are strong for the future, and what additions need to be added?

If they choose to keep me, their goaltending will be set. With Corey Knouse and Trevor Wilson on the wings they will have a legitimate top line centered by Stamkos Jr. Their 2nd line looks like they are going to damage in the future as well, with Zinaida Titova, Louie Garnett centred by Teddy Kesler. On defense the top pairing of Caelan Fearghal and Viatcheslav Orlov. So I would say a couple of defenders for the 2nd pairing will be essential, and then bulking up some depth. As you can see though, if these pieces already intact pan out, Seattle is already nearly there.

So there we have it folks, Michael McFadden is officially on the market, and ready to move if needed. Tune in next time to find out where he would go, and where he would not!

Interview Why the fuck would we have a question for you at your goalie's media availability? Are you looking over his shoulder, you creeper?

Sucks that the SHL goalie market is too saturated that SEA won't get much back if they decide to trade McFadden

But they'll probably deal him anyways
