Second time in a row at home, the Raiders weren’t lucky enough to have a day of rest in between. They would face the Firebirds for the second game in two days. Both team had a quick warm up in the morning and Halifax was really looking forward to bring a victory home against Prince George.

The first period started with a high note for the Raiders. Montek Ramrap was the first to find a crack in the play of Firebirds goaltender, Dean Melanson, not even two minutes into the game. However, a bad penalty by Cloud McCarthy for interference cost the momentum for the Raiders. Halifax penalty kill unit managed to stay strong on the ice for the whole time the defenseman was in the box. However, a few seconds later, King Hanley managed to outplay Jordin FourFour Jr. and evened the score 1-1. The game continued for a few minutes back and forth between the two zones but at the 12 minutes mark, Ramrap received a penalty for Tripping and the play moved mostly into the Raiders’ zone for the end of the period.

The match was still not in Halifax favor after the start of the second period. Trucker Grogan tried to fuel a bit of energy in his team when he fought with Smirnov Light Jr. around 4 minutes into the second leg. He managed to win the fight but had to spend the next 5 minutes in the penalty box. A few second later, Lucas VanDenBroek was caught for cross-checking and gave a power play opportunity to Halifax. However, no one managed to score in the following 2 minutes. Instead of managing to gain the momentum, the Raiders continued dance with the Firebirds. It’s Xander Green who managed to break the tie and scored on the Raiders’ goaltender. Following the goal, Halifax had another opportunity when Oliver König was sent to the box for tripping. Nothing came out of the power play once again for the Raiders. Around 12 minutes into the second period, Grogan was penalized for hooking, putting the Raiders on the line, but the special unit was a wall the Firebirds didn’t managed to pass.

In the third period, the goaltenders saw a bit more action. The first one to be outplayed was FourFour Jr. when Green managed to scores a second one on him 4 minutes into the last 20 minutes. Five minutes later, Tomáš Toothsome was punished for high sticking, giving a golden opportunity to the Raiders. The story continued for them though and weren't able to seize the chance given to them. However, this gave them enough momentum that Yuri Boyka Jr. managed to cash on. With a pass from Ted Glass, he was able to beat Melanson and close the gap between the two team to one goal. Prince George went full on attack in the following minutes and didn’t allow the Raiders goaltender to get out of his crease. Instead, they even managed to outplay him when Forsberg retrieved a blocked shot by Lukas Müller and lighted up the lamp. The end of game horn blasted not long after as the Raiders suffer a second defeat in a row in the hand of Prince George.

The unsung hero of the match for the Raiders was Montek Ramrap. He did not play a lot of minutes, 12, but worked hard on the ice. He had one shot on goal which was successful and lighted up the lamp. He also threw 3 hits during the game and blocked one shot toward his netminder.
