Alright, I’ll bite.

What crazy ass system results in your number 4 player from last year, Zach Evans, not even making the top 100 after a 47 point season?

Haz, I've been trying to tell people for nearly two calendar real life years I suck. The algorithm finally listened to me.

I wish the sim was less random so we didn't have people bouncing all over the place every season on who the best player is

Still love these articles though, glad this has been such a tradition Cheers

Sad no Bent 😭

Somehow he was purged from my ballots and spreadsheet so he wasn't even acknowledged in the ranking. I'll throw him in and we are going to have a couple players with the same ranking because he certainly deserves to be up there.

8. (S31) RW (WInnipeg Jets) - Zach Evans || -4
Grade: 94.60
Past Seasons: S36-62, S37-23, S38-7, S39-4
<div align="center">[Image: pKXPZoe.png]</div>

At number 8 is Zach Evans of the Jets, his third top-10 finish in a row despite some voters forgetting he even existed (weird, that). Evans continued a solid pace, not quite up to previous standards set (in the 50s and 60s in terms of points) but still producing at a great clip, scoring 15 goals and 47 points, as well as still keeping some of his physicality intact despite moving to a more finesse game to increase durability. Evans is one of the more overlooked players when it comes to accolades and credit, but he has created an impressive resume for himself so far during his career.

And I would have gotten away with it, too, if it weren't for those meddling kids.

8. (S31) C (San Francisco Pride) - Geronimo Otto || +28
Grade: 95.10
Past Seasons: S36-90, S38-69, S39-36
<div align="center">[Image: n3nYZ23.png]</div>

At number 8 is Geronimo Otto, his first top-10 finish, jumping up 28 spots after a 23 goal, 50 point season. Defensively he had some struggles compared to last season, and wasn't as dominant offensively with 8 fewer points on the season, but due to showing consistency and scoring 20+ goals two seasons in a row, he has received some recognition. It is certainly likely that Otto was a little bit underrated in S39, but this response looks to have proven himself as a top-tier talent.
