Buck Maverick is from somewhere in the US. I think I said he was from Oklahoma, I don't really remember. Buck Maverick sounds like a very American name so it's not like I could make him from fucking Croatia or something ridiculous like that, had to go with America because I wanted to use that name. So apparently everyone gives a big damn about this offseason distraction, I mean tournament, and they all really care about what team/country they represent and some shit like that. I don't mean to be the debbie downer but I don't think it makes very much sense to me. What is this now an olympics sim league? I don't see why teams with salary caps and drafts and shit which are the primary focus of the league are being hidden for a while so we can watch teams without those things. Teams with arbitrary sources of talent. I honestly don't expect to play in the IIHF because the US is probably stacked and I suck and I'm really not too worried about that. I doubt I'd sign with another team if that's even a thing either, I just don't care all that much. Hope y'all have fun and go win some games and we can get back to regular season soon.

I don’t understand hockey very well so this is the first I’m hearing about the International Ice Hockey Federation (I had to look it up and ask the St. Louis Lockeroom), but being from Minnesota Rowdy Smithers is a proud American who will fight to make it to the American roster. It’s tough to imagine him playing elsewhere since he’s a true red blooded American who bleeds the Stars and Stripes. He’s from a working class family with deep conservative roots and couldn’t imagine representing another country he wasn’t born in. In looking at all the teams, he ‘might’ fit in Team Germany because of his last name and having some German roots going way back, but that wouldn’t be enough to convince him to transfer there. He wouldn’t care about playing for Team Canada, UK, Sweden, Russia, Norway, Latvia, or Ireland and certainly not the remaining teams. He’s fine with not even playing at all since this league seems like a distraction from the SHL and would cut into his off season practice anyways. This off season tournament detracts from Rowdy’s main focus, which is to make it to the SHL by the end of his junior career and he’d rather skip out for all the tournament matches since he wouldn’t make the roster anyways.

Nicholas Falk finishes his first season on North American ice with a little bit of a problem on his hands. As a native Swede, it only makes sense for him to compete with the Swedish National Team. However, his father Adam seems to think otherwise. Adam has a very successful career after switching nationalities to be with Team Norway; becoming a vital part of their dynasty years which saw them capture six medals in nine seasons.

Sweden displays an incredible mix of talent up and down the roster, headlined by aging defender Alonzo Garbanzo and young superstar Dani Forsberg. A supporting cast of Lundberg, Jesus, Tusk and Lindstrom are also not to be ignored. They feature a rookie between the pipes in Sebastien Primeau, expected to become a name to remember for years to come.

On the other side of the fence, Norway features one of, if not THE most powerful lineup in international play. Jean-Luc Relieux, Kylrad, Landvik, Knouse, York, Abes… the list just goes on & on. With only a few players in the middle of their prime, it may be the right time to jump on board and ride the inevitable wave.

Either way, Nicholas Falk will preside over his options and make a decision in the coming seasons.

Canada - I would love to play for my real life home nation and I'm contemplating just sticking with it and eventually cracking their roster. It would be a long wait and that could make for some boring off-seasons, but it would be nice to play for Team Canada.

Latvia - Latvia did really well early into the rebirth of the IIHF but have fallen on some rough times. I recently had a couple people from their camp approach me about signing over and it seems like a fun place to be. The Latvian population on the site has always been vocal and proud of their heritage, but welcoming to outsiders so I think they would be enjoyable to play for. They're a team that's struggling but that means an active youngster would pretty easily crack their roster.

Czechoslovakia - The OG Zoidberg was a Dutch native who signed onto the Czech team when the transfers were a new thing. I regretted it then and I don't think I'd be interested in going there again. A team with some serious troubles cracking the medal rounds and I just don't have a reason to want to go there again.

I'm interested in joining almost any IIHF team and am hoping to have some other teams reach out to try and get a young defender on their squad.

Boris Denisovich was born 9.9.1998 in St. Petersburg, Russia. When he was kid he watched every Russia´s game and was very big fan. He went to watch every game that he could. He have always wanted to part of the Russia national team. And now the dream is coming true. He got selected to Russia´s roster after captain Bishop retired. What a great opportunity for him to show his skills in national games. Boris is very excited for this opportunity and wont let them down.

Boris´s mother is from Latvian Soviet Socialist Republic, which was part of the Soviet Union. So this means that Boris could represent team Latvia. His mother would be happy if Boris represent her home county. Latvia is great country with great IIHF team, but not much success as team Russia.

Boris knows that he can represent team Latvia, but will follow his heart and proudly represent team Russia.

Here is what he told to the press

-"This have always been my dream to play for team Russia and I know I can represent my moms home country, sorry mom but this is what I want, represent my home country." Denisovich

Denisovich is ready to play for Russia after the SMJHL playoff.

Ä’riks Skalbergs has always wanted to represent the Latvian national hockey team in international competitions. He has been following the Latvian NT since he was a little kid - in fact, the first hockey game he ever watched was a national team game when he was just 3 years old. To quote Skalbergs, "I don't think I had any clue what was happening on the screen, but what I did know was that it was something really cool.". When asked if he still wanted to represent Latvia, this is what he said: "Of course I still want to play for team Latvia, nothing has changed. I've always dreamed of being able to wear the Latvian jersey on ice while representing my home country in front of thousands of cheering fans. Of course, I did still take a look at some of the other teams. In case I can't play for team Latvia for some reason, I would probably want to play for a team like Finland, Great Britain, Ireland or maybe even Canada, although I probably wouldn't make it onto most of those teams. I think those teams would be fun to play for, but if I can I'm playing for Latvia."

I am a Finnish goalie and I must play for team Finland! No other team deserves the talents of Scottey Crawfling, the goalie that had 3 WINS (out of 7 starts), a dazzling .882 save percentage, and 1 whole shutout. Teams must be dying to have me. I would consider teams like Austria or Sweden. Austria has stars like Vader, Watcher, and Hefweizen, who would be quite fun to play with. They are also missing a goalie who can backup Jordin FourFour. On the other hand, Sweden has a lot of players I've gotten to know over the years, such as Crossfit Jesus, Lundberg, and Tusk. They also might be looking for a new backup for Primeau after Berlin was underwhelming in his 2 appearances for Sweden. Unfortunately for other teams, I am Finnish and I fight for the motherland of Finlandia. Even though Finland has 2 starting goalies that any other team would kill to have, I must be their 3rd. I'll probably never see a game due to Aittokallio and Laukannen. As I write this out, I realize maybe I should go somewhere else. But I love my brothers Makela, Leetch, and Wozy. So I must be Finnish forever

Karl von Wittelsbach would obviously want to play for Germany in international ice hockey. Playing for his home country would be a great honour and is something that he has dreamed of since he was a little boy. The thought of wearin a gold medal while the anthem is playing is something that his sibling have done in the past and for the youngest sibling something that he always compares himself against. So Germany is definitely his #1 choice. With all of that said it will be interesting to see Karl suit up for another team, but who would he pick?

Obviously Canada or the United States are hockey powerhouses that would be stacked and wouldn’t really need him in there team. Austria and the Czech team are very close to his home in Munich so the distance could definitely factor into them choose to add von Wittelsbach. Karl has said before that Austria would be a nice second choice as there won’t be as much of a language barrier as somewhere else like Russia, Sweden, Finland or Norway. If I had to put money down on a second team it would be Austria, that being said I doubt he’d go anywhere but Germany since he has a deep connection to his family winning gold in other sports.
