Wow I got mentioned a lot Tongue

You'd have to be careful going for a straight 1% extra regression every season, if you're starting from square one; right now, players would lose a fair bit of extra TPE before they reached the 20% tier.

Assuming a player that consistently earns 150 TPE every season (thus begins regression at 1850), these model out as follows;

% Lost - Season Start - Season End
10% 1665 1815
10% 1634 1784
10% 1605 1755
10% 1580 1730
10% 1557 1707
15% 1451 1601
15% 1361 1511
15% 1284 1434
18% 1176 1326
18% 1087 1237
20% 990 1140

% Lost - Season Start - Season End
10% 1665 1815
11% 1615 1765
12% 1554 1704
13% 1482 1632
14% 1404 1554
15% 1321 1471
16% 1235 1385
17% 1150 1300
18% 1066 1216
19% 985 1135
20% 908 1058

A loss of 80 extra TPE.

If, however, you delay the start of that extra 1% lost TPE by just 1 more season, you get this,

% Lost - Season Start - Season End
10% 1665 1815
10% 1634 1784
11% 1587 1737
12% 1529 1679
13% 1461 1611
14% 1385 1535
15% 1305 1455
16% 1222 1372
17% 1139 1289
18% 1057 1207
19% 978 1128

Putting you just 12 TPE short of the existing model.

As for the further 1% each season in the 20% bracket, after 10 seasons from 1140 TPE, the model looks like this,

% Lost - Season Start - Season End
20% 912 1062
20% 849 999
20% 800 950
20% 760 910
20% 728 878
20% 702 852
20% 682 832
20% 665 815
20% 652 802
20% 642 792

% Lost - Season Start - Season End
20% 912 1062
21% 839 989
22% 771 921
23% 709 859
24% 653 803
25% 602 752
26% 557 707
27% 516 666
28% 479 629
29% 447 597

A loss of 195 extra TPE over the existing model. Not impossible to keep playing from, in fact, but by that point, you should just get a new player; the existing model would allow you to perpetually bounce between 600 and 750 TPE forever.

Great podcast fellas! Really enjoy the unique format of your podcast.

King, good luck matching my TPE pace from Eriksson's first few seasons (663 TPE after two seasons). God bless TPE inflation Tongue

Ace should also have a good TPE pace. My Player before I got hit by a car. Winter is Coming's first player Robb Wind from S25 or S26 also had a nuts TPE pace before his car accident.

Also should be worthwhile to look through Toe's Media pieces. He had 2 articles or so about the highest TPE paces in the league.

Yeah, somone sent us that article and we were looking at it. It’s interesting to see the different eras and how faster everyone got tpe. and now the averages and in this era

Haha yeah I have no chance. I went back to S32 cause I think TPE has per season has been a bit more consistent since.

Regarding expansion and the idea of getting players into the SHL sooner:

Do we even have true rookies in the SHL anymore? I think anything that reduces the number of send-downs per season would be a good thing worth looking into. Expansion could be the thing that reduces the amount of send-downs and allows rookies in the SMJHL more opportunities.

Alonzo Garbanzo Final Tallies (Among Defensemen):
2nd in Goals (208), All-Time Assists Leader (765)*, All-Time Points Leader (973), 3rd in Hits (2587), All-Time Blocked Shots Leader (1882)*
*All-Time Leader Among All Skaters

The last true Rookie to appear in the top 10 Rookie Scoring afaik was in S31 Ace Redding. I might have missed someone though.
