December 18th 2018. My first article

Liam Hutchinson known to teammates as "Hutch" looks to continue his passion with a SMJHL club. This fast skating, hard hitting finisher from British Columbia, Canada began playing hockey at the age of 5.

At a young age it was evident that Liam had a knack for skating. Playing against other kids 2 years older than him he had no trouble keeping up the pace, while still filling the net score sheet. As his game progressed he started finding room in his game for punishing hits on the forecheck. Now standing at 6 foot 4 inches, and 230 pounds his opponents are always aware when he is on the ice.

Liam looks to improve throughout his junior career. He recognises that his play in his own zone will have to improve, and with stronger opponents he will continue working on his strength. He wants to be an 200ft player, and continue to crush the opponents defence on the forecheck to create turnovers. He wants to continue to put up points and recognises that his passing is a weakness. He will never be a world class playmaker but hopes to improve that area of his game to beable to set up his linemates. What he lacks in passing he makes up for it in his speed, and his shot.

Liam will be an exciting prospect to follow throughout his junior career and hopefully onto the SHL. The speedy 6'4" 230lb winger will be a force for the defence to handle in the SMJHL, and look for him to lay some punishing hits, and score some highlight real goals. If he is able to round out his game with more responsible defensive play, and put up more assists he will for sure be a top prospect for the SHL. Even if Liam can't continue filling the score sheet he will beable to pressure the defensive with his speed, and be a solid checking bottom 6 player.
