Good evening everyone and welcome to the Colorado Convention Center for the S44 Colorado Raptors regular season award show! We have 9 trophies on the docket this evening, so we’re going to hop right into things as we look to keep this from running too far into the night.

The first award this evening is the Team Leadership Award. Awarded annually to that player that leads his or her teammates both on the ice and off the ice, pushing them to be better players and also better players and also better people. This year’s nominees for the Team Leadership Award are:

Cassius Darrow @hhh81
Jakub Novak @Esso2264
And Konstantin Voloshin @InciteHysteria

This year’s recipient of the Team Leadership Award is:

Konstantin Voloshin! @InciteHysteria Congratulations Konstantin! The Ukrainian rookie who represents Czechoslovakia internationally caps off a brilliant rookie campaign with this team award. He also helped lead the Czech national team to a World Junior Gold Medal over the United States just two days ago. Konstantin is the embodiment of the Raptor Way and we are proud to call him a crucial part of our organization. We look forward to watching his success at this level and the next.

Next up, the Alexander Zajac Trophy for the Most Dedicated Player. Awarded to that player that never takes a day off. Someone who is the first player to the rink every day, the last one to leave, and the one who takes that extra rep to make themselves better a better player to help the team. The S44 nominees for the Alexander Zajac Trophy are:

Cassius Darrow @hhh81
Alexander Selich @Tomen
And Konstantin Voloshin @InciteHysteria

This year’s winner of the Alexander Zajac Trophy is:

Cassius Darrow! @hhh81 Congratulations Cassius! This German rookie had a fantastic first season that saw him nominated for the Rookie of the Year award in the SMJHL as well as being selected 4th Overall in the SHL Entry Draft by the Buffalo Stampede. Cassius is a perfect representative of the values and goals we hope to embody here in Colorado, and we congratulate him on his award win this evening.

The third award today is the Colton Hagan Trophy for the Top Two-Way Forward on the team. These player contribute at both ends of the ice and are defensively sound as well as being offensive threats whenever they get the puck on their stick. This season’s nominees for the Colton Hagan Trophy are:

Alexander Selich @Tomen
Konstantin Voloshin @InciteHysteria
And Lillie Jacobs @Benson

The winner is:

Alexander Selich! @Tomen Congratulations Alexander! The second German rookie to win an award this evening, Alexander was also selected by the Buffalo Stampede in last week’s SHL Entry Draft. Another elite talent that found his way to Colorado, we are extremely proud of Alexander and look forward to seeing him succeed in the SHL, after he finishes being a star in the SMJHL of course.

The fourth award stays in the forward category, but with the Potato Chips Trophy for the Top Offensive Forward in the organization. These players are threats to score every time they touch the puck and they drive the play in the offensive zone when they’re on the ice. These players are ones that put up highlight reel goals regularly and will be elite offensive talent in the SHL after their careers wrap up with the Raptors. This year’s nominees for the Potato Chips Trophy are:

Alexander Selich @Tomen
Konstantin Voloshin @InciteHysteria
And Jakub Novak @Esso2264

This year’s winner of the Potato Chips Trophy for Top Offensive Forward is:

Konstantin Voloshin! @InciteHysteria Congratulations Konstantin! In his second win this evening, Konstantin has taken home both the Team Leadership Award and the Potato Chips Trophy. We are excited to see what Konstantin can do in the upcoming season!

The next award is for the defense, the Kristoffer Ruud Trophy for the Top Defenseman/woman. These players play the important minutes for the team in every situation. Need a goal? They’re out there. One goal lead in the last minute? They’re out there. These are the shutdown players that make things work from the back end. This year’s nominees for the Kristoffer Ruud Trophy are:

Cassius Darrow @hhh81
Jean-Pierre Gay @"JumpierPancakes"
And Veikka Toivanen @Mazatt

And the winner is:

Cassius Darrow! @hhh81 Congratulations Cassius! A strong showing from the German defenseman this evening, taking home his second award after winning the Alexander Zajac Trophy earlier in the evening. What a season for the young German.

The Aleksandr Aleksandrov Award for the Top Goaltender this season doesn’t need any build up, the choice was unanimous amongst the team. This man needs no introduction, congratulations Scottey Crawfling @Kmarko on your Aleksandr Aleksandrov Award win! This team wouldn’t have had half the success they did without you holding down the fort in net each and every game. You are going to see your name in the Raptors Hall of Fame one day and your number is under serious consideration for retirement after the requisite waiting period!

The last two awards on the docket are arguably the two most important ones of each season. First up, the Top Rookie Trophy (we are still searching for a better name than that). Awarded for excellence in one’s first season in the SMJHL, this is an award that players only have one true opportunity to win in their careers. With the Raptors having an abundance of rookies in key positions, there were several deserving candidates. This year’s nominees are:

Cassius Darrow @hhh81
Konstantin Voloshin @InciteHysteria
And Zivan Zidek @Samee

And your winner is:

Cassius Darrow! @hhh81 What an evening for Darrow, picking up his third award of the night. The German defender showed his value more often than not this past year, and his effort this season has not gone unnoticed by his teammates. Cassius was a consummate professional this season, doing whatever it took to lead the team to victory.

Finally, the last award of the evening. But wait Alaska, you said there were nine awards, and I only counted 7 before this one! You are absolutely right, random citizen!

The eighth award of the evening is an award that currently exists, but we are renaming and will be awarding this season for the first time in four seasons. The Playoff MVP Award, or as it will be known from now on, the Scottey Crawfling Bowl. This year’s winner, in case it wasn’t extremely obvious, is Scottey Crawfling @Kmarko . He pulled a young and inexperienced team to the 4 Star Cup Finals last season with dominating performances against the Montreal Militia and the Detroit Falcons. While we came up just short in the end, we would have never made it as far as we did without Scottey and we are proud to name this award after him. Congratulations Scottey and good luck in the SHL with the Manhattan Rage next season!

The truly final award of the evening will be the Zinaida Titova Trophy for this season’s MVP. In what was a close vote, these players are all representatives of the team that proved their value to the organization and the league on a whole this past season with their skill, talent and overall success. The magical season we had last year wouldn’t have occurred without all of them, and we are proud to call all of these nominees Raptors. This year’s nominees for the Zinaida Titova Trophy are:

Cassius Darrow @hhh81
Konstantin Voloshin @InciteHysteria
And Scottey Crawfling @Kmarko

And the winner is:

Scottey Crawfling!! Congratulations Scottey on your third award of the night and you are this year’s MVP! We couldn’t have had the season we did without your hard work each and every night. Congratulations on the award and we are proud to call you a member of the Raptors family. Thank you for everything you did during your time here in Colorado.

That’ll do it this evening for our awards show from the Colorado Convention Center. On behalf of @Good_Ole_Kimmy , myself and the entire Raptors organization, thank you for tuning in and we hope to see you again here next season!
