Anaheim's First 4
#1

With the start of the season underway, the Anaheim Outlaws find themselves in middling the pack of SMJHL teams. The Outlaws currently sit at 6th in the standings after 4 games. The team has not had the exact start they had hoped for. After narrowly losing to the Detroit Falcons 5-4 in a shootout during the home opener. The Outlaws bounced back with an impressive 5-1 win against the Colarado Raptors in front of the home crowd. The next two games would find the Outlaws on the road. The team headed east to Halifax and Montreal for a road trip. Despite stellar play by the new rookies, Anaheim dropped both games by a goal in regulation. The team heads back home for their next 2 against Vancouver and Colorado.

Despite the losses the GM is still happy to see progress among last season's draft class rounding out their game in the Juniors. The team sits at a positive goal differential and is second in goals for as well as overall points. This is a promising start compare to last year where the team finished 6th in goals for and 8th in total points. While just a small sample size, the team management hopes that the trend will improve as the season progresses.

Stand out performances from Captain Hiro Fujikawa lead the team followed by the trio of Outlaws becoming known as the Minnesota Wrecking Crew(Mathias Seger, Jerry Mander, and Collin Gibbles. All were drafted by the Chiefs organization in the last SHL draft in the first 2 rounds).

As the rookies continue to transition their game to the new ice, look for Anaheim to climb the rankings this season. Reports indicate the team is integrating the new additions well. As line combinations are tested, we will see more dynamic play from Anaheim.
