Toronto Northstars – Game by Game

This is a new format to follow my SHL team and what they are doing in their league)

In Toronto we will start with Day 24 of the season , Home Game 124 vs the New England Wolfpack:
A clear 5-1 Loss at home againt the Wolfpack. That you would think if you only hear the score. But the North Stars had mire Shots on Goal (30 to 36). But if you don’t score on your chances, you cant win. A great performance by Thaddeus Prince, goalie of the New England Wolfpack ( Sv% 0,972 ; 35 Saves of 36 Shots).

Day 25 Game 128 @home vs the Hamilton Steelhawks
This game was a decidet ten minutes to go in the 3rd period. Both goalies had a good day with good stats. A very disciplined games by both teams and all goals were scored on equal players on the ice. Robert Phelps with two goals was named 1st Star of the game!

Day 27 Game 136 Northstars @ Manhattan Rage
The Team from Canada was outplayed in New York by german striker Alex Winters and New Yorks Goalie Scotty Crawfling. Winters with 2 Goals and Crawfling with the Shutout let the Northstars no chance.

Day 30 Game 146 @home vs the New England Wolfpack
A game that homefans love. The Toronto Northstars won in OT1 against the Pack with 4-3. Hot and cold showers after the Stars blowed a 3-0 nothing lead into a 3-3. But the cheers from Joseph Lombatdi after his goal in OT are still to hear in the streets of Toronto.

Day 31 Game 152 @ Manhattean Rage
Second Game in short term in New York in the big apple. This time BackUp Friedrich Schmidt startet the game for Manhattan but he was pulled in the 3rd period. The Stars could hold Alex Winters to 1 Assist and claimed two points in a 5-2 Victory.

Day 32 Game 162 @home vs Manhattan Range
Another clash of this two teams. This time the Northstars fall short again. Getting 4 Goals on 29 Shots were to much if you only score 4 times with 41. In the Shoot Out Luke Thomason was the lonely scorer.

Day 33 Game 167 @ SanFrancisco Pride
6-1 was the result for the NorthStars in this nice win near the Golden Gate Bridge. McFadden had a good night with 26 stops of 27 shots he faced. Bob Bergen und Chris York both had a 3 Point night!

Day 36 Game 177 @ New Orleans Spectres
The North Stars seem to like the score of 6-1 and repeated it in this game against the expansion franchise in New Orleans. Joseph Lombardi with a stellar performance: 4 Points and 1st Star of the game.

Day 37 Game 187 @home vs the Winnipeg Jets
Third win in a row for the eastaern Canadian North Stars. Third Game in a row McFadden only allowed 1 goal in the game. Lombardi again with 2 Points!

Day 39 Game 193 @Winnepeg Jets
After 3 Wins in a row the NorthStars lost in Winnipeg with 4-2. A game with only 38 Shots and 6 goals never looks good for goaltenders. Bearrs and Grease from the Winnipeg Jets were the dynamic duo (both 2 points) of this game.

Day 40 Game 200 @home vs the Chicago Syndicate
Mikhail Lokitonov was Man of the Match with his Shoot Out marker. 4-3 at the End for the north Stars against the Expansion team from the US. 47 Shots in regular time only lead to 3 golas for the stars.

Day 42 Game 2010 @home vs Los Angeles Panthers
Back in the win column the Stars won at home with 4-1. BackUp Steve Moore hat a quiet day and faced only 15 Shots (1 GAA). A ggod all around team performance where Lyndis Vakarin hat the most points with 2.

Day 44 Game 218 @ the Tampa Bay Baracudas
In sunny Florida the sun wasn’t shining at a 6-2 loss. Goalie Benjamin Blue from the Barracudas and Cameron Carter II (3 Points) had both a great day and get the earned W for their team.

Day 46 Game 226 @home vs the Buffalo Stampede
A nice comeback in the 3rd period let the way to this win against Buffalo. From a 2-1 deficit after 2 to a 3-2 win in the 3rd is a good sign about effort and stamina.

Day 47 Game 231 @ the Texas Renegades
An Overtime win for the Northstars in Texas. Chris York with his 13th goal of the season gets the 2 points for Toronto and BackUp Steven Moore.

Day 48 Game 239 @ the Buffalo Stampede
In a great and funny Shoot-Out Challenge the NorthStars take the 2 Points to Canada. Anders Christiansen and Zander Rhys scored in the SO to get this win home. McFadden with a good performance (SV% 0,950).

Day 51 Game 248 @home vs the Edmonton Blizzard
Lyndis Vakarian was Man of the Match with 4 Points in this 5-3 home victory by the north stars, both goalies played mediocre and it was a high shooting stats game.

Day 53 Game 257 @ the West Kendall Platoon
Thrid Win in a row by the Toronto Team. Again a score by 5-3. Great performance by Mike McFadden (43 Saves on 46 Shots)

Day 55 Game 264 @home vs the West Kendall Platoon
After 3 Wins now a 2-5 loss at home against the WKP. Crossfit Jesus (WKP) with 3 Points. The Platoon with 44 Shots on Goal. Toronto only 26.

Day 56 Game 273 @home vs the West Kendall Platoon
A Back to Back los (2-4) at home against the WKP in this doubleheader. Gain the WKP fired on all zylinders and had 50! Shots on goal. McFadden could save 46 of them. Both teams used on of their two powerplays.

Day 58 Game 278 @ the Los Angeles Panthers
After two losses at home, the Northstars get a 6-2 Win on the road in cailfornia. Again a 3 point night and best man on the ice was Lyndis Vakarian. Shots were quiet even 24 to 26.

Day 60 Game 290 @home vs the Calgary Dragons
A tight win for the dragons in this all Canadian rivalry. Izzy and Pederson (Calgary) both with 3 Points in this Game, Torontos Goalie McFadden got pulled after 38 Minutes….

Day 62 Game 297 @ the New England Wolfpack
Back to back losses for Toronto. New England with to much Fire-Power on this day (47 Shots). 5 dieffernt Goalscorers for New England!

Day 63 Game 305 @ the New England Wolfpack
Second game in as many nights in New England and the NorthStars had a great revenge. / goals for and only 2 against Toronto. This time the Northstars had 52 shots. Rhys and Lombardi with 2 goals each.

Day 65 Game 310 @home vs the Buffalo Stampede
This was a tight game decided in the Shootout! Joseph Lombardi scored on rookie goalie Cedric Robinson to get the W to Canada (4-3)

Day 66 Game 319 @home vs the San Francisco Pride
Second game I a row to win in extra time. Joseph Lombardi again saves 2 points for the Stars. Anders Christiansen with 2 goals in regular time

Day 68 Game 328 @ the Tampa Bay Barracudas
Toronto goes about the 60 minutes gain in this Away-Win and third time in a row joseph Lombardi with the game winning goal. 5-4 and the 4th Win in a row!

Day 69 Game 332 @home vs the Tampy Bay Barracudas
Again a back to back game against the same opponent and the winning streak wents on to 5 victoires in a row. 6-2 with 2 goals by Anders Christiansen!

Day 72 Game 345 @home against the New Orleans Spectres
Make it 6! The sixt win in a row against the Expansion Team from New orleans. Chris York with 2 goals was man of the match in this 3-2 Victory

Day 74 Game 358 @the Calgary Dragons
Now we are at 7 wins. In this all Canadian derby Michael McFadden with a 3-0 Shutout and 1st Star of the game.

Day 76 Game 366 @home vs Buffalo Stamped
8! Eight wins in a row. This time again in the shootout. And no, this time it wasn’t Lombardi with the GWG. This time it was Mikhail Lokitonov. 5-4 SO Win!

Day 79 Game 377 @home vs the Minnesota Chiefs
Make it 10. Again a tight win for the Northstars vs the Team from Minnesota. Again Mikhail Lokitonov with the GWG.

Day 81 Game 386 @home vs the Tampa Bay Baracudas
Is this a record? 11th win in a row. Again in a Shootout! This time Lombardi and Lokitonov score in the penalty-shooting…. in regular time both goalies had a great performance.

Day 82 Game 390 @ the Hamilton Steelhawks
And again! Win No.12. Shootout. Lombardi the GWG. It’s a story you cant devise. Will Toronto ever lose again?

Day 84 Game 399 @ the West Kendall Platoon
It has happened. In the last game of the regular season the North Stars lost after winning 12 straight at the platoon. Dani Forsberg with a 3 Point night sealt the the deal for the Platoon in thus 4-1 win.
