The Militia come back to Denver, Colorado feeling good about their first shut out victory in Alaska. This the middle game of a 3 game road trip. The Militia were not happy about their last result in the Centennial State. For you kiddies at home they call it that because it became a state in the year 1876, 100 years after the signing of our nation's Declaration of Independence.

Montreal's head coach said that the team would not take the Raptor's so lightly this time after they got beat 6-3 giving up 6 goals on only 17 shots. After the recent shut out by Alekis O'Koiuvu-Volkova we, here at the Gazette were hopeful.

The game started out a bit slow as each of the teams had a feeling out period. That ended at 3:11 into the game as Skottson and the Commander got the puck over to  Kristoffer Svensson for his 4th goal of the season! The team started to fire on all cylinders and Marc Hagan made a saucer pass over to Pardraig Sarantez who got it over to James Truong for his 6th goal as well. The offense has seemed to be clicking for the Militia for the first 10 games of the year. Only one penalty came to Colorado for high sticking at 8:25 and Emeka Valentine-Okoli served his time in the box that one. The Militia were unable to get a goal on that power play attempt but went into the locker room up 2-0 after the first.

The rest of the game was pretty uneventful and somewhat boring to the crowd as their team was unable to score any goals. This shut out was a combination of great goaltending and fundamental defense. As a matter of fact both defenses played well for the entire game. Montreal only got 16 shots on net and the Raptors had 20. Montreal did have 3 Power Play attempts to Colorado's 1. Neither team could make anything of them. Although the game seemed slow to the spectators it doesn't look like that on the stat sheet and this is the second shut out in a row for Alekis! In the end that is all that matters. Unfortunately for the fans of Montreal both shuts came on the road and they can not claim the free dozen of donuts that a local chain gives out for home games.

Up next for the Militia are the Knights it Kelowna this time. I am hoping for a cleaner game but I highly doubt it knowing that many of the players for both teams are looking forward to this rematch. You will recall that the benches cleared in this one ten days ago, not only once but twice!! Hopefully tempers have settled down and we can see some skilled play but I wouldn't bet on it.

In other Militia news it appears that the other teams are grumbling about some inconsistent line maneuvers by Montreal. We have tried to get some information or comments on the record about it but everyone seems hush, hush about the topic. When we spoke to the league about said made they had no comment as well but said that any and all formal complaints go through a rigorous process and that for now they have not found any proof or inconsistencies that would warrant an investigation. So even though they had no comment they made a comment!

On the lighter side we read in a Canadian Magazine, Hops & Grain that Zarley Zalapski will never have to worry about food or drink again as he has made a lifetime contract with Elisnore Beer to be supplied with their beer and peanuts till death does them part.

Transcripted the wrong article. I was rapt with fascination at the international moose count! The Chinese are investing heavily in moose infrastructure, apparently. Not sure how I feel about that just yet, but it does have me thinking.
