Broadcast Attempt

This is not exactly my strong suit but I have been trying to record something for Media purposes.
I am still trying to call a complete game but it is difficult. Instead I wrote a script for a game review of the 11th game for Montreal in Kelowna against the Knights. Just under 6 minutes of a recording. Unfortunately I was not very enthusiastic in this recording and plan to do better in the future. A little bit of a pain as it seems easier and less time consuming to just write up a report. However, I thought it might be fun to mix it up and try something different. Negative reviews or comments are always welcome as much as the positive ones. Truthfully I probably don't read the posts anyways ![]() This is the transcript of the broadcast as I had to type it out. Winging it, is too difficult at this time and following a script isn't much easier! The format as I wrote the script is all screwed up but whatever! I am sure you will notice some typos as well if you really are reading it. (816 Word count that translates to 6 minutes of broadcast recording) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jpP6-mjZn2g&t=29s Good Evening Folks this is Marty Lange of the Montreal Radio Network bringing you the updates from around the league. As always let's get started with your favorite home town team the Montreal Militia. This game was with the Kelowna Knights and the last time these two teams met it was literally a blood bath. Personally I was hoping that tempers would cool down for this game and we would witness some Montreal finesse. The Militia had to travel over to British Columbia for the last game of a 3 game road trip. I know that all of us Militia fans will be happy when the get back to home ice. The last game with the Knights was highly physical and showcased two bench clearings which is unusual for hockey in general and especially in this league. The really interesting note to that last game where Montreal ended up falling 6-4 against the Knights was that Kelowna only got off 17 shots in the game. As a matter of fact the Knights scored 4 goals on their first 7 shots. That is one game that Volkova would like to forget heading into this match up. The Knights would be on home ice for this game but the Militia would get things rolling right out of the gate! The Commander for the Militia, also known as the shepard would pass the puck over to the Swedish connection Skottson who would get it over to Svensson for his 5th goal of the season only 14 seconds into the game! After that the scoring would settle down and the play didn't seem nearly as physical as the last one in Montreal. I do believe that the league had a warned both of these orginazations about the mayhem in Monteal and did not want a repeat of that type of behavior. One penalty to the Knights and two to the Militia would round out the end of the first period. Neither team was able to connect on their respective power plays opportunities. The second period would prove to be a showcasing of pure speed and skill by the Knights! Barry Batsbak would get the snowball rolling at 1:01 of the second and this would be his 3rd goal of the season. Only 3 minutes and 27 seconds later would would see Liam Hutchinson hammer his way home for goal number 4 of the year. and about 4 minutes after that at 8:16, Nathan Explosion would explode into his 6th goal of the year as the Knights took the lead and control of the game up 3 to 1. Big Fudge for the Knights and Griffith Cadwalader would cancel each others penalties out at 5:05. The game was much cleaner and less physical compared to the last meeting. If the Knights were just gonna skate all over the place and keep scoring I thought it might be better to get back to the rioting. I was in the Montreal locker room for the third period and the Commander was up in arms kicking chairs and yelling at his teammates. Whatever it did it seemed to light a fire under the team for the first half of the third period as the Militia came firing their hockey sticks back against the Knights goaltender. Rookie Zarley Zalapski got his fourth assist on the season as he passed the puck over to Hans Zucker who got it to the Commander and he tapped it in to score his fifth on they year, getting the game withine one. You could the emotion on his face as he egged his team on! Cadwalader and Angello would connect to tie the game up at 12:46 and Militia fans were saying their just might be a chance here. Unfortunately the team would collapse on the defensive side and Zucker would lose his cool getting called for a double minor at 15:35 for high sticking. This penalty would come right after the Knights took the lead at 14:59 as LeBlanc got his first goal of the season to put his team up 4 to 3. The penalty would prove to be fatal as Batsbak would get his second of the night on the power play at 18:07 and that insurance goal would finish the game with the score of 5 to 3 in the favor of the Knights. Recapping the stats we see that the Knights out shot the Militia 37 to 29. Montreal went 0 for 2 on the power play and the Knights were 1 for 4. The Knights had 20 hits to Montreals 10. Face Off wins were ridiculous as the Militia won 50 to the Knights 32. Monteral had double the blocked shots of 8 to 4. However. penalties is what really hurt the Militia as they had 10 to 6 compared to the Knights. |
