Montreal Still Hungry
|
Banned Banned Is it still 2x Media?? (1424 Word Count + Graphic) It was only one day after the disappointing loss to the Anaheim Outlaws that the owners, front office and staff were getting ready for the next season ahead. It appeared they were just as hungry as every even though they had a sour taste in their mouths and bellies. I suppose, blowing a one goal lead, in the third period, of game seven, at home, would do that to anyone. Perhaps creating a draft board and getting the pieces in place to make another Four Star Cup run in '48 was the only consolation for the Militia. I think the point is, that it is clear, that this organization, lives and breaths hockey and will not let anything get in their way to win another cup, for the fans, of the great city, of Montreal! This draft was going to be very deep with talent. Coaches were salivating as they looked over tape and read statistics. General Managers and Ownership were busy with texts and phone calls. Montreal had the 9th pick in the first round after finishing runner up in season 47. They also had the 15th, 19th, 22nd and 29th picks overall. They had 4th, 5th, and 6th round picks but most likely would be passing on those. The big gap to fill for the Militia were Centers. Coaches demanded that they pick up Centers first and concentrate on that position. After the day had finished it appeared that many back door deals were made. In this league, of ten owners, it is no secret that they work together, trying to not step on one anothers toes, when prospects come up, who have ties to their team. Many of the players in the Draft were thought of as Militia Property. The Montreal powers that be figured they had this draft all wrapped up but they did have a contingency plan set in place, just in case someone broke the unwritten rule. On Draft Day, things seemed to go according to plan. To the public's eye it might seem odd that many of the players that the Militia picked up, fell so deep into the later rounds but this reporter knew that it was all part of the plan. This league has been around for so long now that systems are in place and that is just how things are going to be. Conor Tanner was picked up in the first round at pick number 9! Only one N in that first name and this player is a sure fire bet playing at Center unlike the Connor Tanner relation. The Militia expect amazing things, in just the rookie year, of this pick as history has already proven with this family. This player already has a monster jump after the combine and will earn at least 57 TPE on the next update bringing the Total TPE to 212, which is impressive indeed! On another important note, Conor inherits a little over 29 Million in virtual cash which will make things very smooth. Next up with the 15th pick, You Gotta Love Honors Bio! I don't understand the name and it isn't my job to. I just report the news and the news states that the Militia are in dire need of Centers! After looking this player over they have a good grasp of what they are doing and have garnered 25 TPE so far for a total of 175. They listed 175 from a start of 150 but they may want to look that over as I think they may actually start at 155 TPE plus 25 would bring them to 180 TPE total. Coaches will have to make sure as I have no clue! This player also needs to work on earning some money to get ready for the season and the SHL Draft only a year away. A good investment is to read the financial planning set forth in another thread that states a player needs to bank an average of 20 Million a year to have a decent cushion. At nineteen, The Militia decided on none other than Hugh Jazz! The Lord might be upset of the blasphemous agent "ThatDamnMcJesus" but this is hockey and we aren't going to discuss anything but hockey in this report. A bank balance of over 54 Million is going to set this player for life. Another player with family connections who isn't kidding around. Not only the large bank account but also a first week total of 216 TPE is gonna set this player up for an amazing first year with Montreal. Expect more TPE, Cash, Goals and Assists from this Right Winger who may turn into another Center down the road. Raquel Castillo Guiterrez had no comment being picked up at 22 in the third round but reports have been confirmed that she was not happy with her draft position. All we can say here at the Gazette is that we are sure glad we picked her up. In our eyes, in the city of Montreal, we only care that you are on the team and draft position will not matter, when the puck is dropped, on the ice! Another offensive power making it two Wingers and two Centers for the Militia! They are getting serious this year about scoring more goals. Guiterrez is another player with deep ties to the SMJHL and the SHL. She has already garnered enough TPE to get her total up to 202 but we expect more and more from this player. We have noticed that a contract has not been signed as of yet or at least we can not find the information. We are hoping that we will never see another Cleary type situation but trust this Mama Bear! Gavin Hughes, aka, Brandon was the last pick up for the Militia making it a total of five pick ups! This time the Militia went with another Defensive player and this player has serious history like the other 3 additions. What a very deep draft for the Militia and in our opinion a clear winner of the '48 Entry Draft. Gavin Huges earned 42 points so far and is at a total of 197 but we wouldn't doubt he is over the 200 threshold before season start! This should be a great replacement for Sarantez as he has vowed that this will be his last year in the SMJHL. They grow 'em Big in Texas and this player is no exception! Expect good things from this player joining the the Primary Defense for Montreal! In season 48 we have listed all the contracts that have been signed so far and also the Free Agents that stayed on. The Militia also kept many IFAs as well and hope to continue on with their recent success. For your enjoyment we also listed the Season '47 players who signed with the Militia, listing their current TPE as of 6/12/2019. Four Rookies were picked up in the SHL Entry Draft and we expect these four to be in the league for a long and prosperous career! It should also be noted that, Mike Hunt or Atlas Hunter is going to be doing great things in goal and is moving up in TPE at 325 which is only 25 away from the cap! Hopefully AOV won't be called up but if so, Mike Hunt will be ready!! Also, it appears that Tedisko is leading the '47 Rookie Pack with a huge training session gaining 85 TPE!! The only hole in her game, for now, is her bank account but we expect that to get boosted very soon.
