Episode 3 Table of Contents Episode 1 - Colorado Raptors Season Reports Episode 2 - Colorado Raptors Season Reports Since the last episode, the Colorado Raptors have had a tough time. They went on a 6 game losing slide which damaged their record on the season. Due to the loses pilling up on the team, they decided to make some line-up changes and strategy changes to try and turn the losing streak around and it did work. After the 6 game losing streak they went 6-3-3 to turn their record from last episode to 7-8-3. The line changes the Raptors made included moving sophomore player, Bo Kane, onto the first line with Calogero Crudelli who is having a fantastic season with 40 points to date. Kane and Crudelli have been playing excellent together and if that continues Crudelli has a chance at leading the league in points on the season. Team Statistics W: 9 -> 16 L: 6 -> 14 OTL: 3 -> 7 GF: 57 -> 109 GA: 53 -> 114 PP%: 20.59% -> 18.60% PK%: 77.27% -> 78.95% FO%: 51.88% -> 52.09% Team Strengths Face-Offs The only team strength for the Colorado Raptors that has been consistent from the pre-season until now is the teams ability to win the face-offs. They continue to lead the league with an average of 52.09% which is an improvement on last episodes 51.88%. Ja'Aj Coitus-Wagg leads the way with a winning percentage of 54.27% in 925 total face-offs taken. Bo Kane follows with a winning percentage of 54.14% in 966 total face-offs taken. Jake Peralta is next up with a winning percentage of 53.22% with 466 face-offs taken and then rookie Axel Caderoth has a winning percentage of 44.75% with 219 face-offs taken in total. Kane, Wagg, and Peralta are all near the tops of the leagues with their face-off winning percentage which is very impressive. Calogero Crudelli Calogero Crudelli is having a season for the books. He has been one of the top scorers in the league for pretty much the entirety of the season and has been a huge part of the Colorado Raptors winning any games this season. He currently has 16 goals and 25 assists for 41 points in 37 games and is a team-high +17 which is extremely impressive when you consider the fact that 13 of the Raptors players are negative +/- and only 3 are above +10. He currently sits 2nd in the league in points. It will be interesting to see if he continues this run because if he does he could end up the league leader in points. Team Weaknesses Powerplay & Penalty Kill The Colorado Raptors powerplay was considered a strength last episode as they had a conversion rate of 20.59%. Unfortunately, the powerplay dipped a bit down to 18.60% which is below the league average of 20.04%. It will be interesting to see if the Raptors elect to try and swap the powerplay units around a bit heading down the stretch of the season as they are a team that struggles for offence and will need to find some extra goals heading into the playoffs. The penalty kill for the Raptors has been an issue for the team since the pre-season, however, they did see some improvements since the last episode. They now have a killing percentage of 78.95% which is an improvement over their previous killing percentage of 77.27%. Unfortunately, it is still below the league average which is 79.96%. The team's powerplay is ranked 8th and the penalty kill is ranked 7th. If you combine the team's powerplay and penalty kill you get a percentage of 97.55% which ranks 8th in the league. Shots For The Colorado Raptors have struggled to find consistent shot totals throughout the season. They have been on the lower end of shot totals since the pre-season and haven't seen much improvement in that area all year long. They currently average the leagues lowest shots total with 23.86 per game which is even lower than last episodes total which was 24.50 per game. The league averages about 25.87 shots per game so while it is possible to catch up, it will take a huge improvement on the teams overall offensive gameplan. Goals For Goals for was considered a strength for the Colorado Raptors last episode as they were averaging 3.17 goals per game. Unfortunately, that average has taken a huge dip since the last episode as they only are averaging 2.95 goals per game now which is below the league average of 3.07. The Raptors are a very top heavy scoring team as they only have 3 players over 30 points (Crudelli, Kane, Bohne Jr.). This is an area that will see improvement next season as they are a team filled with young prospects. Top 3 Stars 1. Calogero Crudelli (5 goals, 18 points, +7) 2. Bo Kane (5 goals, 15 points) 3.
