Hello everybody and welcome to a new segment called cooking with Phineas.  Hosted by yours truly, Phineas Gold.  Today we are going to explore probably the best recipe known to mankind and people who like food in the Fall.  Today we will be introducing our sous chef who is none other than my amazing, adorable, and completely useless dog Ice! Yes he is sitting on the ground next to me with what looks like his paw over his eyes as he is trying to avoid me looking at him.  What a wonderful dog.  I think he is just waiting for the end where he would normally get to try some of what I am making.

Alright let’s get down to business shall we?  No more getting distracted by the cute dog who is now trying to catch his own tail in his mouth.  What a dumb, adorable dog.  Alright so some people ask what I like to do in my spare time when I am not training on the ice and the answer is this.  There area a lot of things people like to do: Play Fortnite, go out and drink, maybe some white powder next to a trophy in Vegas? (I swear it’s not what you think).  What I like to do in my spare time is spend my time in the kitchen making things that I probably should not be eating, but my teammates do not seem to mind so much.

Today’s recipe is a Pumpkin Chocolate Chip Cake.  This cake is a combination of light and fluffy and chocolate that will have you and your friends begging for more.  Trust me, last time I made this for my birthday and everyone asked me to make it again…. Every week.  If you follow these simple instructions, you too could be the envy of all your friends.

First you will need some pretty basic things from your kitchen.  A pyrex liquid measurer, a bundt pan (one of those circular pans that has a cone section in the middle), some bowls for mixing (preferably of medium size), and an oven.  The ingredients are simple too:
3 cups of Sugar
3 cups flour
1.25 cups of Canola Oil
4 Eggs
2 tsp Baking Soda
2 tsp cinnamon
1 tsp salt
1 can (15 oz.) Solid Packed Pumpkin from the store
1-2 cups (or an entire bag if you’re like me) chocolate chips

Once you have gathered all of your tools necessary the first thing to do is to turn on your oven.  This is the longest step and you can do everything else while waiting for your oven to get up to 350 degrees. It’s like working out on the ice.  Make sure you have all your equipment on before getting on the ice, or a game, or really just whatever… Just make sure you do it!

The first thing you do is create your sugar, egg, and oil mixture. To do this you just add in all of your ingredients (3 c sugar, 1.25 c oil, and 4 eggs) and mix it all up until it is combined and looks slightly golden from the oil and the eggs.  This mixture is like your offensive.  You have the sugar as your eggs as your center keeping the oil and sugar on your wings together and making sure they make cohesive plays.  It binds everything so that when the time comes your team can deliver the punch needed to score a goal on those friend’s taste buds.
The next step is to get your defensive mixture going.  This is your combination of flour, baking soda, cinnamon, and salt.  You mix that all together in separate bowl really well.  If you don’t mix it in a separate bowl your baking soda could clump together causing some spots in your cake to taste really bad.  Avoid throwing everything in without mixing.  A proper mix is important!  Once you have mixed properly, throw everything into the bowl with your forwards to create your team.

Now that offense and defense have been properly blended (make sure you have mixed all your ingredients together).  It’s time to add your goalie.  This is none other than the chocolate chips.  You dump those all into your mixture and then give it a couple more stirs so that they are incorporated into your bowl. Finally the last step. You get your coach in there telling your team what to do. Dump that can of pumpkin and mix away. This all together makes your cake mix!

Now go back to your pan. Cover that thing in oil spray or canola oil that you have put on a paper towel.  If you don’t do this step then your cake will stick to your pan and will be very difficult to remove.  Pour your mixture into the pan and cook for 1 Hour and 15 minutes.
After the cooking time is up.  Remove your cake from the oven and let cool in the pan.  Serve when you feel like it.

This recipe is not getting fed to my dog because of the chocolate.  Even if he's starting at me... and whining.  Fine I'll just have to go make something else now...

Thanks for listening and enjoy the cake!
