SHL S50 Game 7 - LAP @ TEX

SHL Game 7 Advanced Taterlytics Report:
Posessor: Andreas Kvalheim @raymond3000
Team: Texas Renegades
Victim: Max Mauldin @Wasty
Team: Los Angeles Panthers
Time: 0:32 of 1st period
Total possession time:  0:32
Hot po-take-to:
Another season means we’re back with the Hot Potato reports! And back quickly as a matter of fact. 32 seconds into the opening game of the SHL season, Kvalheim was having none of this Spud and came crashing into Max Mauldin. Max reeled from the hit a bit but didn’t look too unfazed. First game adrenaline is definitely playing apart of that. Maybe Kvalheim should’ve taken his time with the Potato as shortly after he dumped it off, he took his first penalty of the season. Everyone looks in peak condition physically and they’re really flying around out there. I wouldn’t be surprised to see the Potato change hands quite a few times tonight.

SHL Game 7 Advanced Taterlytics Report:
Posessor: Max Mauldin @Wasty
Team: Los Angeles Panthers
Victim: Kristers Dzelme @Didza
Team: Texas Renegades
Time: 17:01 of 2nd period
Total possession time:  36:29
Hot po-take-to:
Mauldin was able to take advantage of being fresh from the offseason and was able to power through the extra heat of the Potato to notch his first assist of the season early in the second period. This put the Panthers up by 2 goals and they never looked back. Mauldin was flying during his time with the Potato. The goal came on a face off win by him where he played a nice tic tac toe with a few LA teammates. It ended with him gathering in his own missed shot to set up a wide open Philipp Winter on the doorstep to slam the puck home. After almost two periods of time with the Potato, Mauldin delivered his first hit of the game to Kristers Dzelme.

SHL Game 7 Advanced Taterlytics Report:
Posessor: Kristers Dzelme @Didza
Team: Texas Renegades
Victim: Theo Morgan @Otrebor13
Team: Los Angeles Panthers
Time: 9:13 of 3rd period
Total possession time:  12:12
Hot po-take-to:
Dzelme, the second line center man, took on the Potato towards the end of the second period and wasn’t able to do much with it. He wasn’t able to generate any shots or really drive play at all while holding the Potato. Although, he didn’t do either of those things without the Potato either. They seemed neutral of each other so the Potato decided to direct its Eyes on an already goal scorer this game, Theo Morgan. Dzelme finally caught up to the smooth skating Morgan and gave him a slight bump, barely redirecting Morgan’s skating trajectory. Morgan isn’t well known for his checking prowess and finished the game holding tight to the Potato. It was a pretty busy first night for the Spud as it looks to wreak chaos, both good and bad, for players across the SHL this season.

SHL S50 Game 13 - TEX @ LAP

SHL Game 13 Advanced Taterlytics Report:
Posessor: Theo Morgan @Otrebor13
Team: Los Angeles Panthers
Victim: N/A
Team: Texas Renegades
Time: N/A
Total possession time:  1:00:00
Hot po-take-to:
As i stated previously, Theo isn’t exactly well known for his ability to throw checks and plays a much more evasive game. He tends to try to out maneuver opponents rather than out brute force them through his strength. The Potato clearly hasn’t changed that facet of his game as he went hitless through this entire game on the tail end of a back to back home and away with the Renegades. While the Panthers dominated the game 6-1, Morgan himself seemed to struggle. He finished with 7 shots, a -1 plus minus, and no points to show for his efforts. Snake bitten? No. Potato bitten? Maybe. Was it due to the first back to back of the season for Morgan? Maybe his elusive play style didn’t fair well early in the season due to his conditioning. Or maybe the Potato’s heat and weight is really bringing him down. Hopefully, Morgan can find his stride with a few days rest before the next game or the Potato looks favorably on Morgan and lends him some of its magic skill!
