KLOMPUS LOOKING TO 1ST ROUND

Player Agent Toast called for an impromptu media session following Newfoundland’s 2-0 victory over the Colorado Raptors.

St. John’s, NL – As the Newfoundland Berserkers head towards the end of their regular season, it seems that S54 SHL Entry Draft prospects are already looking forward to their moment in the spotlight next month.

First-year defenseman Jack Klompus and player agent Toast called for a press conference to make their intentions clear to any SHL clubs that were interested in the prospect. This would also mark the first time in over 20 seasons that Toast would meet with the media.

“Thank you all for being here,” said Toast. “We wanted to meet with the media today to make it clear that Jack Klompus should be a first-round pick in the upcoming SHL Entry Draft.”

It seems quite early for a player agent to be making draft demands to general managers, but it seems that Toast is looking to make sure his previous reputation is not factored in.

“Right now, Klompus is the top prospect on the Newfoundland roster,” said Toast. “There is a lot of talent on the roster, but Jack has been the one putting in the most time for practice hours and the effort is beginning to show on the ice.”

Klompus has not seen much offensive action on the ice with 12 points through 40 games and currently sits at a -10 with defensive partner PBJ Souppan. However, Klompus is often one of the top rated players for the Berserkers despite the low scoring tallies. His current 61 game rating puts him just outside the top 5 for the team.

“I’m just doing whatever I can out there,” said Klompus. “I’m a team-first player and this locker room is absolutely fantastic. Everyone has the drive to succeed and we are looking forward to the post-season.”

The Berserkers have seen a recent spark winning their previous two games with Klompus putting up an assist in a win against the Carolina Kraken.

When asked about their preferred destination in the SHL draft, it seemed that the main intention for the duo was to just be selected as high on the board as possible.

“I definitely had priorities for my clients back then,” said Toast. “Nobody would be surprised that Edmonton was always the dream location for any of my clients, but right now? Every team is looking fantastic.”

“I want to end up somewhere that has a fantastic locker room,” said Klompus. “It’s all about having good teammates to enjoy this whole experience with. Plus, I have this really good pen and if-“

Klompus was cut-off by his agent before he could explain the pen to the media attendance.

With the S54 Draft still approximately a month away, many are questioning why this SMJHL player is signaling out teams already.

“I’ve burned some bridges in my time,” admitted Toast. “I owe apologies to both Chicago and Los Angeles as I did not give it my all to encourage my clients. I know that we have something special here with Jack though.”

Toast’s two previous clients were known for giving zero effort when it came to practice and eventually both clients would find themselves without a team lost to retire in free agency.

Toast’s previous client, Freddie Sweeney, was known for being an absolute mess off the ice for the Chicago Syndicate.

Toast highlighted the amount of hours that his client has put on the ice to practice for the upcoming opportunity. The 267 practice hours the rookie has seen thus far is one of the highest totals for the S54 prospects at this point.

“Klompus had his doubts at the beginning,” said Toast. “Once he arrived in Newfoundland though, his passion for the game really came through.”

According to Newfoundland sources, Klompus has become a core piece of the Berserkers locker room and has shown lots of passion during the Newfoundland games.

Toast has been spotted attending league meetings as well for the first time in over 20 seasons, trying to get word about his new client out.

“Believe me,” said Toast. “Jack Klompus will be the best defensive prospect to come from the S54 draft.”

There are still many days before the Entry Draft, but this particular agent and duo pair are sure to be on the minds of GMs come draft day.

I just want to leave a note down here on the bottom of this article. I haven’t been this into the SHL in a very, very long time. Newfoundland has absolutely sparked the old flame that was down there.

I know my reputation for my past couple players has probably left people thinking I’m unreliable at this point. I know that isn’t the case this time around, Klompus will be an absolute star.

If you have your doubts, reach out to me. I would love to connect with any GMs. You can reach me by PM here or Discord Toast#1007

My main goal is to get back in the first round of a draft and I feel like I have put in the work so far. I just need someone to pull the trigger.
