[Presser, ready for grading I guess. 269 word introduction + 0.5 x 365 words in answers = $451.5k expected payout]

This will not be for me as a user and the new Co-GM position, I'll be talking more about that, as well as answering questions with hockeyiscool / Dwight Knight, the new Co-GM of Tampa, as a supplement to the upcoming Draft Special episode of Hockey Talk Tonight.

The last Kraken player to appear, Jimmy Wagner steps out from around the corner leading to the visitor's locker room fresh from showering off the sweat and champagne. Sara Wagner is on her feet immediately, her USC sweatshirt a stark contrast to the suits and professional outfits around the room, and races over to embrace her older brother. As she heads to the back of the room, he leans around the bulky Adam Friedland, trying to pick out his name at the microphones. Having spotted his number, he slides behind teammates - tousling Vítek Víteček's hair as he walks past, and takes a seat between Dwight Knight and Keith Lee. The third year captain exploded in production during the regular season, tying Ryuuji Minamino for the SMJHL points title, and made life hell for most of the league's defenders that had to spend night after night concerned not only for the young Austrian's explosive speed, but his new found ability to put pucks in net and set up teammates. This newly discovered offensive power found its way throughout the entire team, as the roster led the league in goals scored in the regular season and then kept up their pace for a postseason goals per game over 3.5.

He leans back, eyes briefly closed and with a sigh that had likely been building for the last month of playoff hockey, Wagner looks at peace for once. He seems to remember where he is, and a bright smile appears on his exhausted face. Eyes open again, he surveys the room.

"I guess now that we're all here, who's up first?"

Honestly pretty good, ya know? I came over to America wanting to win championships and make a name for myself, and this one of of my biggest goals for my career. When I came over, that whole first week I would catch myself asking  "Has anyone really been far even as decided to use even go want to do look more like?" and to do so so quickly into my time here is incredible. I love what Carolina has provided for me as far as opportunity goes, and I'm excited to take a week off and then hit the grind to defend our title.

So, it's definitely nice because every time the season starts up you have every team thinking they can pull it off. To have that everyone capable of battling it out each season gives everyone a reason to push and work hard every year and that's a really cool thing. Everyone comes into the league hungry and opportunity is there for them. It's less fun this time, when everyone thinks they can make it their year and you're the one defending the title though.

I think we knew we really had something this season when we took the last two off of Newfoundland. Everything kinda changed around the facilities at that point, we weren't just a playoff team anymore and we could actually run with them with the new additions we had. That confidence goes a long way really. We elevated our play kinda based on that and from that and we were eager to face them again and show we were at their level.

Same with Lee leaving, and the additions of Yxskaft and Hanson at/prior to the trade deadline, does knowing you have a guys last shot at the cup on your shoulders push you to perform?

What kind of excitement do you have for next year to compete against two brand new teams in the SMJHL?

Finally, what kind of timeline do you feel you have in terms of getting called up to the Panthers?

It definitely things feel a bit more real, knowing this was the last ride for those guys. I think we were already galvanized and ready to go though, bringing in Hanson and Yxskaft was the sign from management that this was going to be a serious run and we all buckled down at that point. Just the way we do things in Carolina is pretty heavy on the "play every game like it matters that much" mentality, so I think by that point in the season we were pretty galvanized and ready to take a swing at things.

I'm excited to see the new teams in action, but it will hurt to lose a player from our current roster to one of them. The teams and players in the J are all pretty closely knit, so I think they'll all mesh well, and I'm excited for more competition, but it just got that much harder to win a title and that's both exciting and a nice challenge going into my last ride. I'll be excited to see who they really form up rivalries with too.

Like I just kind of hinted at, I'll be back for next season as my last ride. Los Angeles has a pretty stout team right now, and while I could crack the roster on some teams in the big league right now, they aren't in desperate need of me and I like it a lot in Charlotte so I'm happy to oblige.
