Russia Announces IIHF Roster
#1
(This post was last modified: 09-11-2020, 02:54 AM by JaytheGreat.)

Forwards
(S38) Artemi Berezin  Shl @drodger91
The oldest player on the team is back for another tournament. The Center that plays winger is a big help in the defensive zone while still being able to contribute in the offensive zone. Berezin is also a very good leader for this young team.

(S41) Dayymo Ralchankinov  Platoon @damienj10
One of Russia's most reliable scorers, Ralchankinov is deadly on the wing and really feeds off a reliable playmaker.

(S46) Anastasia O'Koivu  Rage @Pris
A forward that is never scared to through herself into hits, O'Koivu is a nightmare to play against due to her physical play, and willingness to fight along the boards. O'Koivu takes pride in her hits count and also her penalty minutes.

(S48) Mika Kandinsky  Stars @Mika_Kandinsky
The star of Russia, Mika is arguable the best player in Russia and therefor draws the toughest assignments. While having a slow start the past 2 tournaments the offensive Center will be looking to light up this tournament.

(S49) Skao Anazibf  Steelhawks @nour
Anazibf plays an important defensive role on the team, including being one of the team's main penalty killers. The Center is a very good 2 way forward that can make an impact on either side of the ice, but seems to take pride in his defensive game. Moving up to the 3rd line Anazibf is a major annoyance to opposing teams and plays very well with his Steelhawk teammate Fouquette.

(S49) Jagger Fouquette  Steelhawks @Waters
Anazibf's teammate on the Steelhawks, this winger also seems to have a passion for defense. This former Canadian excels in the defensive zone and plays a very physical style not being afraid to lay the wood whenever an opponent has their head down.

(S49) Jakub Bruchevski  Wolfpack @JaytheGreat
The Center turned RW has had a breakout season in New England scoring 20 goals and a total of 41 points. The winger is deadly on the wing but has to cut down on turnovers but should be a big help to Kandinsky on the 1st line.

(S50) Alexei Rykov  Argonauts @RaginCajun
The speedy winger is one of the biggest scoring threats in Russia. Rykov is dangerous and should be treated as such.

(S50) Ivan Maximus  Renegades @thiefofcheese
Everyone's favorite thief is the 2nd line Center. Maximus is a very solid 2 way forward that focuses for on passing and setting his teammates up then scoring. While only having 2 points last tournament he 22 shots blocked and and put his body on the line for his team. Maximus is also a good penalty killer and the fact that he had 0 in the +/- category means he can hang with the best.

(S54) Alexei Petrikov  Armada / Stars @mdubz
Petrikov is back once again as a winger, Alexei showed last tournament he can hang in a tournament this size and will be asked to lead the 4th line.

(S55) Zakkira Diporov  Falcons / Jets @TheSparkyDee
One of the 2 new comers in this year's team, Diporov is looking to make an impact. The big power forward was a chance to make an early name for himself has he battles for pucks around the net and along the boards.

(S56) Alexsander Kozlov  Kraken @FlappyGiraffe
A potential top 3 pick in the up coming draft Alexsander is a huge talent coming from Russia to the SMJHL. Kozlov will be anchoring the 4th line at the Center spot, and will probably be the line's biggest scoring threat.

Defensemen

(S46) Oliver Klozoff  Dragons @Alex Mack
Klozoff helps form the defensive back bone of the team, this defensive defenseman had a high defensive rating last tournament. With 10 hits and 3 takeaways Klozoff is aggressive and tries his best to keep the puck from getting into high scoring positions.

(S47) Igor Volkov  Wolfpack @TheHockeyist
The best Russian defenseman last tournament, Igor looks to continue with another fantastic tournament. Offensively Igor has been a play making threat for both Russia and New England. Considering this will be Igor's last tournament I'm sure he will go all out and leave it all out on the ice.

(S48) Piotr Horvat  Renegades @Slowpoke
Russia's best defenseman, while he didn't have a great tournament last year he's looking to bounce back. While he struggled the last time defensively, offensively he scored 3 goals and 5 points totals. The captain is the heart of the team and his leadership will lead Russia to glory.

(S49) Derek Bohne Jr  Platoon @wumaduce
The defensive defenseman battled hard last tournament but didn't have much to show for it. He still had 15 hits to go along with 3 assists, the talent is there but Bohne Jr needs to turn the corner.

(51) Alex Petrenko  pride @traphag
Petrenko was all over the ice last tournament in a good way. The defenseman had 19 hits, 5 takeaways, and 22 shots blocked with having a neutral plus/minus. Petrenko was probably Russia's best defenseman defense wise and will look to build on his performance.

(S53) Valentine Kalashnikov  Platoon @suavemente
Looking to build one his first tournament, Kalashnikov is coming in uncapped. The physical defenseman is looking to shake up the opposing team with his brutal hits and willingness to drop the gloves.

Goalies

(S52) Samat Beibitzhanov  Inferno @Duff101
In the past 2 tournaments Samat has been the star of the tournament for Russia in my opinion. Has a capped goalie he went up against the best countries in the world and has held his own. Last year Samat was tied for 3rd in game rating which is above Vilde, Kryyst, Doyle, Cain, and Leitner. Now that he's uncapped there's a chance that he could get votes as the best goalie in the tournament.

(S50) Shiqa Vitalievich  Shl
Filler

It'll be a very interesting tournament as we have 2 IIHF rookies in Diporov and Kozlov and both of them will have time to show what they've got and I can't wait to see how they perform. Lastly this will be the final tournament for Jagger Fouquette, and Igor Volkov and I hope to send them out in style, Russia will be dedicating this tournament to Igor aka @TheHockeyist thank you for being an important part of Russia and I hope our paths cross again somewhere down the road.  Russia  Russia  Russia
