Johansen Goes Top 5
#1

Every single day in the NWJHL Gabriel Johansen was underestimated and was told he wasn't going to be good enough, hence his fall into the second round of the NWJHL draft. Half way through the regular season however, Johansen proved that he was worth every penny spent on him, and the draft pick spent on him, as he tore it up, leading all rookie defenders and even some veteran defenders. It wasn't long before Johansen got recognized by many different teams for his hard work and dedication. Johansen was even told that if he continued, some big name companies would love to sponsor him, and of course they did. His first ever sponsor was from Nike, and boy did they love him.

After the sponsorship, more companies wanted to get involved with Johansen and so began his "legacy" in the NWJHL. Coming towards the end of the season however, Johansen got suspended five games, which he thought would cost his draft stock to fall, oh how wrong was he. During the playoffs, Johansen played due to an error in the system, which caused his team to win, but Johansen could be the sole reason the team was eliminated in the crucial game that could of sent them packing to the finals. Regardless, Johansen was okay with what happened, because it was all worked out, and everyone was really nice about it. Come draft time, Johansen managed to land 5th overall to the Edmonton Comets after they traded with the Rage for their pick. It seemed like destiny, as Johansen knew people recognized his skill and he even knew that people understood that he was the best defender to pick up.

In other news, Johansen has pretty much locked in the Brendan Ozales Trophy, awarded to the best defenders each season. Johansen has shown exceptional skill and has demonstrated why he should be chosen for the award. The award will be given out later on, so look for Johansen to appear to give a speech about that.

I moved up to five just to get you. I know how active of a member you are and how good of a player you have. No doubt you will be a key part of the Comets for many seasons to come.
