Nikolaj Boyle was born in 20**, in Latvia, with the birth name Nikolaj Irbe, born to Gintars Irbe, and Anyuta. Gintars Half-Brother was also Anyuta's son, so Nikolaj's birth father is also his half uncle. Due to to unfortunate events, which involved him being sold, Nikolaj was sent to an Orpanage, were he stayed until he was adopted by an American Couple, Charles and Genevieve Boyle. His new father was a detective for the 99th precinct were he, worked hard to stop bad guys, with the help of his trusty sidekick Jake Peralta. However this backstory is not about them, its about how Nikolaj chose to play hockey, and how he ended up as a promising prospect in the SMJHL. You see Nikolaj being from Latvia, was entranced by the sport of hockey at an early age and used to travel with his father from Brooklyn to watch the Manhattan Rage play. He got to see the Rage beat the San Francisco Pride back in S52. Boyle was a stand out in the New York Youth Hockey leagues, being rated as the best youth player in all of Brooklyn. 
Nikolaj, at the young age of only 18, participated in the Birddog National Youth Hockey Championship, were he met up with many other youth hockey stars such as David S. Pumpkins, Zayne Rotzbua, Ole Oleson, this Austrian Guy with a long name that I cant spell, and Fin Von Murphistien. They all preformed well enough to be picked up by the St. Louis Scarecrows (except Ole Oleson cause he sucks), After impressing in his short time with the Scarecrows, it was time for him to declare for the draft. While Boyle would have not minded returning to St. Louis, he knew it would be difficult for all of the the Birddog Five to make it back.  
Draft day came, and Boyle fell. Despite being a top prospect, and training as hard if not harder than many other prospects in his class, Boyle did not here his name called until the third round. He ended up in Vancouver with Zayne Rotzbua, and while his draft position was lower, his expectations were higher, he should work harder in order to help Vancouver win again, As one of their younger players, Boyle has the chance to be a star for Vancouver if he keeps working hard. However as the draft edges closer the real question is, will SHL teams see enough in him to take him in the first? or will he again fall in the draft.
