S59 QCC Leadership Group

The celebration of the Four-Star Cup came with a bittersweet taste for the Quebec City Citadelles. They worked hard all season to put their hand on this trophy, closing on 4 years of hard work for some of these players. This was the last time they would play under the captaincy of Jasper Maximov, and they had to say goodbye to the alternates Zdenko Beranek and Kev Kevens as well. All three had amazing success in Quebec City, all three being in the top 5 in points in the franchise history. The organization wish them well and success in Winnipeg, Calgary, and San Francisco respectively.
It was now time to select the new leadership group for the Quebec City Citadelles. It was first assumed that Boris Petrov, the current Home alternate captain, would keep his letter. After discussion with the management, Boris though the time was good to pass the leadership to the younger players. There was such an amazing group of young guys and the team was excited to see what they could build together. Boris knew he would be able to terrorize the other team no matter what.

Maximov left big shoes to fill, but the team was excited to name their new captain. He was drafted 21st overall in Season 57 and had a quiet first year. After a strong second season with the Quebec City Citadelles, putting up an unbelievable 69 points (nice) to lead the league, receiving the Alex Light Trophy, the Jared Hanson Trophy and the Elias Armia Award in Season 58, it was an obvious choice for the team to select Mew Two (@zeagle1) as their new Captain of the Quebec City Citadelles.

Joining him as the Alternate Captain of the Quebec City Citadelles is someone who Mew Two knows well, Brian Davenport (@vandy). He was drafted in Season 57 as well, 7 picks after him. He does not have the same flashy play as Mew Two but manage to get points at a great pace and play an integral role in the team.

Lastly, splitting the duties of the Home/Away Alternate Captain of the Quebec City Citadelles is younger blood.  The 10th overall selection in Season 58, Shane Duffy Jr. (@LB3737) will fill the role on the road while the latest first round pick of the team, Greyson Cooper (@goilers) will don the letter at home. They both showed great promise as players and leader in the locker room, which make those player invaluable.

We are looking forward to seeing the team play along with such leaders on the ice.
The goal will remain the same for the team, getting their hands on the Four-Star Cup once again!
Let’s go Cities!
