Michael Boychuk Bio:
Michael Boychuk, affectionately nicknamed “Big Game” Boychuk for his propensity to score or create clutch goals for the dragons when the game was on the line, especially in the post-season. He played 19 seasons in Calgary and has been a key element of the Dragons long-time success. He holds the record for all-time points by a Dragons defenseman with 558 and ranks 12th all-time in D points for the SHL. He's also the all-time Dragons leader in playoff points by a defenseman with well over 100 points and close to 200 games played. One regular season statistic that really stands out and is a testament to Boychuk’s defensive prowess is his plus minus rating. He’s currently 3rd all time in +/- of all defenseman in SHL history with a +147 career rating. That’s an amazing achievement behind only Darian Scherbluk and Aidan Richan. He was obviously fantastic on Defense, but he also posted big offensive numbers as a playmaking Dman from the blue line. He was the straw that stirred the drink for the Dragons offense with his puck movement and assists capabilities. He finished with 472 assists in the regular season and countless more in the post-season. He played in the playoffs in 18 of his 19 seasons, all with the Dragons and won an astounding 5 cups. Boychuk has been a captain and leader for the Dragons for a large portion of his career and always a positive teammate and a honestly a coaches dream. I’ve had the honor of coaching Boychuk for every game he’s played in his career and he’s always been someone I can count on in the Dragons line up. Having that faith in a player as a GM is a true luxury. Boychuk was always in it for the team, never wanted to retire until the team had a plan to replace him. That time finally came recently, our young D is looking strong now and I’m glad they got a chance to learn how to play the game from such a great example like Boychuk. He may not have made a lot of noise on the boards over his career, but like many other legendary dragons he made his mark on the ice, in our room and with multiple championships. He is truly an all-time great and one of the best players and people I’ve had the pleasure of getting to know on this site.

Nicholas Pedersen Bio:
Nicholas Pedersen quietly became one of the greatest players in SHL history, with 869 points he currently ranks 8th all time. Not bad for a 42nd overall pick in Season 20. Throughout his illustrious career he was always a great player, starting out with the Detroit Falcons and ending up finding a permanent home with the Calgary Dragons in S25, where he made his mark on history for the Dragons franchise as well as the league. Pedersen ranks top 3 in Dragons all-time scoring during his 18 years on the team. He was a key acquisition in S25 by a new GM Esa Anrikkanen and a giant part of the Dragons dynasty that won 5 cups and spanned well over a decade. Pedersen was always a point producer in the Dragons line up, whether it was at his natural center position or on the wing later in his career. He formed a dynamic duo alongside the great Randy Randleman for much of his career as the two studs were linemates for well over 10 seasons. Defintely one of the most dangerous duo’s in league history. Pedersen was also always a great playoff performer, playing in the post-season 21 of his 22 seasons. He’s probably played the most playoffs games of all-time. With portion of the record book missing he’s still posted with 94 points in 166 career playoff games, but we know he has more than that because he made the post-season in 5 of those un-listed seasons and won 2 cups in those yrs. It's entirely possible he could have played close to or over 200 playoff games. Flat out amazing. He helped his teams go to 9 cup finals, 7 with Calgary and 2 with Los Angeles. I don’t think many, if any players can say they played in 9 cup finals, he obviously was a huge difference maker for his teams. Pedersen’s numbers speak for themself but he was also a fantastic teammate and leader for the Dragons, he wore a letter for a number of years and represented the organization incredibly well. He had a great work ethic and he never sought out fanfare or stardom in the league, he was very passionate and driven to win championships and was always a big motivator in our locker room. Nobody will ever forget is classic speeches during the playoffs. He was absolutely an in-valuable piece of the Dragons franchise, he will be sorely missed but fondly remembered. Nicholas Pedersen’s legacy will live on in Calgary as one of the best players and people to ever wear a Dragons jersey.

Randy Randleman Bio:
Randy Randelman is a Dragons legend playing 20 seasons in Calgary, scoring 826 points and Winning 5 Challenge Cups. He was a 1st overall pick in S24, my first season and first pick as Dragons GM, he became a giant piece of our organization and was a franchise player. Randleman started his career with 6 straight 20 goal seasons and scored 20+ goals in 13 of his 20 seasons in Calgary. Winning multiple awards including Two league MVP’s, he’s one of the best players ever and certainly one of the best Dragons ever. He was always a stud on the ice, but was even better in our locker room. He took on a huge leadership role with the team, served as Captain and was a big part of our management group even without holding an official co-gm position. In his prime Ballerstorm was one of the most active and hardest working people on the site. Always carrying himself with class and representing our organization incredibly well. He’s a great person and became a great friend thanks to the SHL. It was an honor to have him as a key contributor to our team all those years. We would have not won 5 cups without Randleman in Calgary. He's still well loved in our room and we miss him on the site. Randleman has already been inducted into the SHL Hall of Fame and it’s my pleasure to now induct him into the Calgary Dragons Hall of Fame.

Alex Mack Bio:
Alex Mack is a legend among men and certainly his teammates. Mack played from season 25 – 45 for the Calgary Dragons. In his 21 seasons he scored 637 points, good for 4th all-time in Dragons scoring. He won 5 cups with in Calgary and was a member of the group of 5 dragons players who won 5 cups together. Mack was always a playoff performer, bringing home the Anton Razov trophy in S27 as playoff MVP. He also ranks 4th all-time in SHL playoff game winning goals and 7th in playoff points scored. He’s kind of a big deal but not everyone knows it. He's a player who’s always been great in the line up throughout the last 21 seasons. An elite point producer but an unselfish player who often played a depth role for us. Mack gave us incredible strength down the middle, which was key in helping the team win 5 championships. Mack never even played 1st line in his career and only had a handful of seasons as line 2 center. He did most of his damage from the 3rd line which is amazing to think about. He ranks 39th all time in SHL scoring. One of the top true centers to ever lace up the skates. His effect was felt not only on the ice but in his media as well, which has always been hilarious and he’s contributed a lot of positive press to the Dragons over the years. He’s worked incredibly hard with his updates, reaching 1500+tpe at his peak and has always bled dragons red. Mack ranks 2nd all-time in games played for the dragons at 1050 and 14th all-time in league history. He was always a primary playmaker who scored 30 points or more 13 times in his career. He was legendary on face offs with a 52.17% career win ratio, which is very impressive. He was over 55% numerous times in a season. His face offs were a big reason the dragons were able to control the play and win so many games in during his tenure. He is without a doubt a Dragons legend. One of our most committed players ever, one of our highest scoring players ever and he’s more than earned his place in franchise history.

Schnitinfritz Jagr Bio:
Schnitinfritz Jagr was one of the great Dragon players during the 20's and 30's at the height of our dynasty. Schnitinfritz racked up an impressive 386 points, good for 11th all-time in Dragons scoring and played 802 games which ranks 7th all-time. Throughout his career he was a very productive hard-nosed player, primarily a face off and defensive specialist, but could obviously light the lamp when called upon. Jagr made the dragons extremely hard to play against by giving us incredible center depth and purposely developed a specialist build to give us an edge in possession. That advantage often resulted in wins, especially in the post-season. Jagr was a two-way centreman who won over 6,600 face offs during his career, with a 54% winning percentage and he had well over 55% in some seasons. Having a weapon like Jagr alongside players like Esa, Randleman, Pedersen and Mack made the dragons nearly unbeatable in the late 20’s and early 30’s when they went to 4 cup finals in 7 seasons, winning 3 championships. Strength down the middle was always a key to the dragons success and Jagr was a huge reason Calgary was able to win so many games during that era. Often an under the radar type of player, the Dragons would not have won those championships without Jagr in the line up taking draws and scoring clutch goals. He has 8 post-season game winners ranks 7th all-time in Dragons playoff scoring. Jagr was a selfless player, always in it for the team, often playing wherever he was needed on lines 2 and 3 and was a PK and face-off specialist. He could have been a #1 center on any team. Jagr was a truly great player and a consummate teammate, we were lucky to have him here for an incredible 16 seasons, some of the best years in franchise history. If there was ever a guy you want taking a draw at the final buzzer or to grab a beer with after the game it’s Schnitinfritz Jagr. He is more than deserving of entering the Dragons Hall of Fame. We'd like to congratulate you c00kies and thank you for all contributions to the Calgary Dragons.

Richard C Hocolate Bio:
Richard C Hocolate, better known as Dick Chocolate was a 1st round draft pick of the Dragons back in S28 and played 400 games in goal for Calgary over his amazing 22 year career. Hocolate led the Dragons to Two Challenge Cup Championships as their starter in S40 and S42 and won another as back up S32. He tallied 224 career Wins ranking 20th All-Time in the SHL history. He also ranks top 3 in goalies Wins on the Dragons with a record of 244-144-32! Dick Chocolate is an absolute legend and it’s our honor to induct him into his rightful place among the all-time greats in the Calgary Dragons Hall of Fame! During his 22 year career, Hock was always loved in our locker room and without question was the ultimate team player. After being drafted he waited patiently for his time to start until Hunter Wong retired in S36. As a back up for Wong from S30-S36, Hocolate went 28-11-3 and was always a difference maker picking up those important extra points in the standings for Calgary every season. He became the starter in S37 and was phenomenal going 179-119-26 leading the Dragons to the playoffs each of those 8 seasons and winning 2 Challenge Cups, including a Playoff MVP Trophy. In his prime Hocolate was an absolute stud and a major reason behind our success. Later in his career he once again transitioned to back up for an emerging Kata Vilde before eventually retiring in S49. Hocolate was the perfect goalie, he was there to bridge the gap between the two goalies around him and shined as a starter on his own leading us to multiple championships. A truly legendary career and one of the greatest goalies to ever put on a Dragons sweater.

Hock’s accomplishments on the ice were obviously great, but he was as good if not better in the locker room. An all-around fantastic person, teammate and friend. His activity and impact on the Dragons was always consistent and positive, enhancing the experience for everyone. He’s a team favorite and on a personal level I want to thank him for always doing anything I needed from him in his contract, he was an absolute pleasure to manage. BIG Congrats and Thank You to everyone’s favorite goalie Dick Chocolate on a great career and a well-earned induction in the Dragons HOF!!

GM C00kies Bio:
Today the Calgary Dragons honor the past. For past 28 seasons, c00kies and myself, the longest GM pairing in the history of the league and also the most successful tandem, racking up 800 wins, making the playoffs 26 times, going to 9 finals and winning 6 challenge cups, it’s been a great run together. During that time my Co-GM c00kies and I have become great friends. We’ve helped each other through difficult times in real life, we’ve won championships in a fake hockey league, we’ve been through tough losses and times of adversity with the team but through it all we’ve stuck together and kept the Dragons on top. We’ve always maintained a great environment and experience for our players and that’s something I’m very proud of. Through the SHL and being GM’s together for over 5 years in real life I’ve gained a truly awesome friend.I can’t thank c00kies enough for everything he’s done for myself and for the Dragons as my co-gm, he's always been there when I needed him and has always been a sensible calming presence. He’s brought a ton of knowledge and experience to the team and we’ve benefited greatly from it all.  I couldn’t ask for a better person to do this job with me the past 28 seasons. He is a big reason for our success and we are all very grateful. Cookies also holds a special distinction in the league, he’s been a member of the same organization since season 6, I think that has to be some kind of record. Pretty much everything the Dragons have done in their history they’ve done it with c00kies as an active member of the team. He was also O4L ’s co-gm for at least a couple seasons before staying on as my co when I was hired in S24, so he has over 30 straight seasons as a Dragons GM, pretty awesome. The guy is a legend and we'll immediately be entering c00kies into the Calgary Dragons HOF as a GM!

Kriss Labsvards Bio:
Kriss Labsvards is a Dragons legend, a defenseman who is long overdue for an induction into the Dragons Hall of Fame. It’s about time we get him in his rightful place and honor him. Labsy was one of the first Latvians members in the SHL, leading the Latvian invasion of the mid-teens. Labsvards played his entire career for Calgary, spanning 18 seasons from S15-S32 and was always a leader on and off the ice for us. One of the funniest guys in our room he had a great personality and comedic wit. He also became our team Captain and was the first Latvian Captain in the SHL and first Latvian Captain to lead his team to a Challenge Cup. Labsvards eventually won 3 cups with the Dragons and racked up over 400 points and 800 blocks in his career. He was always a stud for us, playing in all situations and someone we leaned on heavily in the teens and 20’s of the SHL. One of the best Dragons defenseman to ever put on the jersey and certainly one of the best ever Latvian players in league history. Personally I had the pleasure of playing with Kriss Labsvards for 14 seasons and he was one of the reasons I grew to love Calgary so much during my first seasons in the league. We greatly appreciate everything he’s done for our franchise and it’s an honor to induct a great player and person into the Dragons Hall of Fame. Long overdue but very well deserved.

Esa Anrikkanen Bio:
The Big-Parm.. It's the home of the Calgary Dragons and the house that Esa Anrikkanen built. See for 29 glorious seasons our iconic winger defined what it is to be a Dragon, doing things on and off the ice that may never be repeated in the SHL. Esa Anrikkanen Became the first player in SHL history to reach 2,000 tpe, the first to score 400 goals, the only player to score 500 goals, the first to break McKeil’s 926 point record and one of just two players to score over 1,000 SHL points while leading his franchise to 5 Challenge Cup Championships! Off the ice Esa was honored as 1 of only 5 members to ever receive the Vidrik Onoprienko Award for Lifetime Dedication to the site, as well as an award named after him in the SMJHL for the leagues top rookie. Anrikkanen became a 1st ballot hall of famer back in season 48, and here today the Parm-King officially closes out his historic career joining these elite group of dragons with an induction into the Calgary Dragons Hall of Fame! The 'Icon' may be the best to ever lace up an SHL skate.

Roman Augustus Bio:
There were some big changes for the Calgary Dragons back in S36, the team was being transformed from the old guard to the new....Joe K was taking over as Captain, Mike Izzy was traded to the Dragons and in that season Roman Augustus was drafted 10th in the leagues S36 Reddit draft. Anyone that was witness to that season knew that Augustus being picked 10th was a steal for Calgary! Roman was already marking his territory as one of the great TPE earners of his class and a sure fire meat and potatoes guy across the league! Augustus in his prime had a unique set of skills that rivaled any player in the SHL . Roman could move up to the top line and hold his own with Kortesi or lay back on line 2 and help move Izzy to higher levels. And when things got difficult TDZ would work his magic on D and anchor Calgary's defensive unit that desperately needed his leader ship and skill set!

Augustus was named one of the 3 captains in season 37 alongside Mike Izzy and Joe K as the new guard of Dragons to take over and excel. Off the ice Danga was part of the inner circle that helped build a new and excitable locker room as well as being a constant mainstay in all draft room discussions. TDZ won 2 Challenge Cup Championships with Calgary, one in S40 and the other in season 42. And during his switch to bruit forward TDZ won himself a Jeff Dar award! Roman Augustus was a unique weapon for the Calgary dragons during a time of paper cutter players and it’s my honor to present to him the Calgary Dragons hall of fame letter along side our other Dragon greats!! Congratulations and thank you to theDangaZone AKA TDZ on a great career and a well-earned induction in to the Dragons HOF!

Mike Izzy Bio:
As GM of the Calgary Dragons for the past 35 seasons I've been lucky enough to have many great players who've made big impacts on the team, but there's never been another player who’s impacted the organization in quite the same way as Mike Izzy. The Dragons would not be where we are today without Izzy’s dedication, hard work and positivity everyday. Whether it was through his player on the ice, his activity in the locker room, his behind the scenes work in management during the S40's or most recently as my awesome Co-GM in the S50's Izzy's impact has been incredible. The “Augment” is a perfect nickname for him because he has definitely made the dragons greater during his time here by adding many awesome elements to the team experience. On the ice his stats speak for themselves and in my opinion he’s the greatest true power forward not only in dragons history but league history. He was an elite  player for many years racking up over 800 points, winning 3 challenge cups, including a playoff mvp along with numerous personal awards and of course finished as the all-time SHL hits leader. Izzy maintained an infectious work ethic and positivity the entire way which was truly remarkable. It’s been an absolute honor having him in Calgary his entire career. He’s a tremendous leader, he was an awesome Dragons Captain for many years and his ability to drive activity in the room and bring the team together is incredibly valuable on so many levels. I can’t thank him enough for everything he’s done for the Dragons organization and helping us become one of the premier player experiences in the SHL. Mike Izzy is an absolute legend, easily one of the greatest Dragons of all-time and I couldn’t be happier or more honored to enter him into the Dragons Hall of Fame.

We will also be retiring his number 19 jersey, a special honor given previously to only 4 players in the Dragons storied 58 year history. His #19 jersey will hang in the rafters of The BIG Parm Arena alongside Ryan Jesster, Esa Anrikkanen, Randy Randleman and Hunter Wong.  — GM Esa Anrikkanen

Joe Kurczewski Bio:
Joe Kurczewski... The Elder Dragon. In a profession where the drakes die quickly, fear the Elder Dragon. No matter how hard the hit or how difficult the loss, JK would bounce back up and keep on fighting. Over a 22 season career that would span 5 teams, there was nothing that Joe K would not do. He would rise to the top of whatever team he played for, and would win championships with 3 separate teams, The Dragons, The Spectors and The Blizzard. He would be named MVP by the league and then named it by his peers. He would be the best two way player in the league and a playoff MVP. Anything he set his mind to, he would achieve with incredible results.

He would outlast many greater prospects than him and outshine those considered his betters. His story is one of SHL legend, but for where it matters to Calgary, his greatest feats would be his days with the Dragons. Over a 3 year span of Season 40 through 42, the dragons would win the challenge cup twice, lead by their indomitable captain who would be named both playoff MVP and the leagues best winger. He broke many hearts when he did the same for Edmonton and would destroy the curse of New Orleans.

So today, in the ring of Eternal Dragons, we gladly welcome Joe Kurczewski, The Elder Dragon to his rightful place. Thank you Joe for all you have done for Calgary and the SHL

Otis B. Driftwood Bio:
Otis B Driftwood - The Chosen Dragon — The 40th Anniversay of the SHL’s founding was a hugely important for the dragons. As a bedrock franchise they were part of the celebrations as the league welcomed a new decade. But in the Dragons den, they were looking for the next face of the franchise and then GM Esa Anrikkanen would make it clear he wanted one man and one man only. Otis B Driftwood, a player who would later be christened the Chosen Dragon after being sought after by the GOAT. The career he would have with the Dragons would make this selection well worth it.

There are so many angles that I can take this entry. Driftwood is arguably one of the most treasured players that the Calgary franchise has ever had. I could talk about his two cup runs with the dragons, one of which almost won him playoff MVP. I could talk about his amazing assist numbers, how he was a mentor to younger players, how he changes the lives of so many people but… all of that wouldn’t do him justice.

The way that guys like GM Mike Izzy and Esa Anrikkanen talk about Otis is akin to reverence. There are many that argue that he should have a statue outside the big parm for all the contributions he made. Heck, it was Otis himself that christened Calgary’s new stadium “The Big Parm” after he, Mike and Esa went out to dinner one night and they were eating Parm when they looked over the new stadium. The fact that the name stuck should be more than enough to recognise his legacy.

A scholar, a gentleman, a king amongst men, it is my eternal pleasure to welcome Otis Driftwood, The Chosen Dragon, to the Calgary Ring of Eternal Dragons. Thank you for all you have done for Calgary Otis

Kata Vilde Bio:

Kata was drafted 14th overall in S41 to the Dragons. After winning SMJHL championships in S40, 41, and 42, plus taking a World Junior Championship Gold Medal with Sweden in S40, Kata came to Calgary and immediately made an impact, being part of the team to win the Challenge Cup in S42. 

At this point in time, Kata Vilde began to win over fans on and off the ice. His unmatched play in the creased was echoed by his presence in the locker room and in the community. Vilde is loved and respected in Calgary, having a place in the hearts of every fan. His S50 season is a thing of legend around the Big Parm, as he led the Dragons to their latest Championship.

The veterans of Calgary speak about Vilde like he is a mythical being. The locker room has not been the same since he retired and the days he visits are brighter and more fun than all the others. Kata Vilde is beloved in Calgary and is fully deserving of this honour.
