This media focuses on last week’s packs, as I missed a week and I’m catching up. While my overall luck has been pretty good when you look at my collection of Ruby and Diamond cards, my luck when it comes to HOF cards has been abysmal. Hopefully, this is the week of cards that changes that. Let’s find out.
Overall Collection (144 packs, 864 cards): 0 HOF 17 Diamond 42 Ruby 31 Team logos 124 Gold 268 silver 382 bronze Pack 145: The first pack of the week starts off with a silver dupe in Dogwood Maple, followed by a bronze and then another silver dupe in Sekai Wollker. Another bronze card follows, and then a new Gold, 84 overall Scoochie Stratton. And finally, another silver dupe in Maxwell Carrigan. A lukewarm pack to start off the week. (1G, 3s, 2b) Pack 146: This pack also starts off with a silver dupe in Nolan Sawchuk, and then a bronze card. Next is a DIAMOND! But after 17 straight unique Diamond cards, the streak comes to an end, as this is a duplicate in Kaarlo Kekkonen. A bronze follows, and then two silvers end the pack: a dupe in Maxim Horvat and a new one in Nike Kickz Jr. RIP fresh Diamond streak. (1D, 3s, 2b) Pack 147: A bronze start to this pack, followed by a dupe Gold in Vivian LeBlanc. A bronze and a silver dupe in Sekai Wollker (again), and then a new Team logo: the season 56 Atlanta Inferno. Another Gold dupe in Vince Reaper ends the pack. Always like getting a new logo. (1T, 2G, 1, 2b) Pack 148: A Gold start to this pack, with a new card, 81 overall Pavel Jeziak. Back-to-back bronze cards follow, and then a Ruby! The first one of the week, it’s 85 overall Luke Thomason. Two silvers round out the pack, a dupe in Granny Panpan and a new silver in Bean Beanman. Now that’s a solid pack. (1R, 1G, 2s, 2b) Pack 149: The Gold start continues, and what a Gold start this one is, as three Golds come up in a row. A dupe in Geoff Higgins, a fresh one in 81 overall Patrik Money, and another dupe in Jean-Paul Boivin. Two bronze cards follow those, and then the pack ends with a Team logo, a duplicate in the season 58 Calgary Dragons. A dupe heavy pack, but still pretty solid. (1T, 3G, 2b) Pack 150: A silver start to this pack, with a dupe in Bradley Barkov. A Team logo follows, although it’s also a dupe in the season 58 Winnipeg Aurora. Another silver dupe in Axel Meszaros follows, and then a bronze. Next is a Ruby! Another fresh Ruby, this time it’s 87 overall Matt Kholin. And finally, a fresh silver in Eero Makela ends the pack. Another solid pack! (1R, 1T, 3s, 1b) Pack 151: The silver dupe start trend continues, this time with Adrian Ayers. Two bronze cards follow, and then a new Gold, 80 overall Mew Two. Another bronze cards comes after, and then a final silver dupe in Daud Ramza ends the pack. Lots of silver dupes lately. (1G, 2s, 3b) Pack 152: A bronze card starts off this pack, followed by yet another silver dupe in Patrice Nadeau. A second bronze in the third spot, and then a dupe Gold in Scoochie Stratton. The pack rounds out with two more silvers: a fresh one in Rikki Petrov, and a dupe in Tokek Takshak. Another dupe heavy pack. (1G, 3s, 2b) Pack 153: A slow start this pack, with two bronze cards starting things off and then a dupe Team logo in the season 56 Seattle Argonauts. The back half of the pack isn’t much better, as a silver dupe in Gordie Boomhover, a bronze, and a silver dupe in Kaspars Tsizling ends the pack. Dupes, dupes, dupes. (1T, 2s, 3b) Pack 154: A fresh silver starts off this pack, in Valdis Vejonis. That’s pretty much where the pack ends, as three bronze cards follow, and then two silver dupes end the pack: Stan Q. Next and Lassi Suhonen. I wonder what percent of silver cards I own. (3s, 3b) Pack 155: Lassi Suhonen starts off this pack, as if I didn’t have enough dupe silvers. Two bronze cards follow suit, but luckily, a fresh Team logo brightens things up. It’s the season 25 Portland Admirals. Another silver dupe in Dakota Reid shows next, and the pack ends with a bronze. Team logo card saves the day. (1T, 2s, 3b) Pack 156: If the last pack was saved by the Team logo, this one is doomed. Four consecutive bronze cards start the pack, with a fifth bronze ending the pack. Only a silver dupe in Ty Murphy prevents a total bronze pack. Absolute dud pack. (1s, 5b) Pack 157: The bronze terror continues, as three straight bronze cards start this pack. A new Gold in Brian Davenport, 80 overall, halts the bronze streak, although the pack ends with a fourth bronze and a silver dupe in Rinky McDangle. Almost another dud, saved by a Gold. (1G, 1s, 4b) Pack 158: The bronze age is officially upon me, as another triplet of bronze cards start off a pack. A dupe silver in Adam Kylrad breaks up the streak, but a fourth bronze follows. A fresh silver in Bernard Freeman gives a silver lining to this pack. Banking some card luck karma, maybe? (2s, 4b) Pack 159: Finally, a not bronze streak to start a pack. But it’s not that much better, as a dupe Gold in Geronimo Otto starts the pack, followed by not one, but two duplicate Team logos: the season 60 Philadelphia Forge and the season 41 Texas Renegades. And then the bronze age comes flying back in, with three bronze cards ending the pack. Practically, this is a dud pack. (2T, 1G, 3b) Pack 160: Back to bronze cards starting off packs, but ignore that as we have another Ruby! 85 overall Billy Brooks! (side note, why do so many players have Tom Wilson renders?) A silver dupe in Wen Baters follows, and then two more bronze cards. Finally, a fresh Gold ends in the pack in 80 overall Spitfire. About time the card luck turned around a bit. (1R, 1G, 1s, 3b) Pack 161: A fresh silver begins things here, with Colton Hagan. A duplicate Team logo follows in the season 26 Minnesota Chiefs. Another fresh silver comes next in Richard Metcalf Jr., followed by two silver dupes in Eero Makela and Alex Marshall. A bronze card ends the pack. Two new silvers, not bad. (1T, 4s, 1b) Pack 162: At a glance, this would seem like a really solid pack. But almost 1000 cards in, this pack is essentially a dud. The pack starts off with two dupe Golds in (clean) Andrei Kostitsyn and Simon LeBlanc. A silver dupe in Ethan Bouchard follows, with a bronze in tow. Another silver dupe in Slimey Snail and a Gold dupe in Richard Physt ends the pack. All six cards were dupes. Tragic. (3G, 2s, 1b) Pack 163: At least this pack starts off new, with a fresh Gold in 82 overall Joorgustraad Dubolk. After a bronze, another Ruby is pulled! Lots of fresh Ruby cards today, this one being 87 overall Tony Pepperoni. That’s pretty much it for the pack, as two bronze cards sandwich a silver dupe in Cormac Ponaire to end it. A fresh Gold and Ruby ain’t too bad. (1R, 1G, 1s, 3b) Pack 164: The penultimate pack starts off with a silver dupe in High Haschdi, followed by a bronze card. A fresh silver in Darian Scherbluk comes next, with another new silver in Eero Makinen Jr. coming next. Two more bronze cards end the pack. Some new silvers, at least. (3s, 3b) Pack 165: The final pack of the week starts off hot, with a Ruby! Another new one, this time it’s 86 overall The Dude. Two bronze cards follow, and then a not-dupe dupe in Danny C (but this time on HAM) come next. The final two cards of the pack come up with a bronze and a dupe silver in Joseph Lombardi. Can’t fret about getting a new Ruby. (1R, 2s, 3b) Eight weeks of cards, 165 packs, 990 cards, and still no HOF card to see. If the SHL card system had a forgiveness mechanic, I’d be getting close to approaching it, I’d have to imagine. I may seem ungrateful at this week’s haul, with a Diamond and six Ruby cards to show, but at this point, no amount of rare cards are going to make up for missing out on HOF cards. Onto week nine, I suppose. This week’s packs summary (21 packs) 0 HOF 1 Diamond 6 Ruby 7 Team logos 16 Gold 41 silver 55 bronze Overall Collection (165 packs, 990 cards): 0 HOF 18 Diamond 48 Ruby 38 Team logos 140 Gold 309 silver 437 bronze |
