S72 DFA Bounty #3 - The Future
#1

Playoffs are still going on, and we're at our third DFA bounty of the season:

With playoff hockey going on in the league, you can feel the excitement in the air and your draft, the real start of your SMJHL career, coming closer. It makes you wonder where this could all lead to eventually..

Written Task: What are your goals in the leagues? Long term, mid term, short term; what are you hoping to accomplish with your player, or hoping to find on the teams you join. Are you looking for individual success, and maybe even a HoF induction, or will you focus on team success? (250 words min.)

Graphic Task: Create a hockeycard for your player, including at least your render, name and the logo of an SHL team you could see yourself playing for.

Reward: $500,000 for doing one of the above

Only current SMJHL Draftable Free Agents (S73 SMJHL Draftees, SHL class of S74) are eligible for this bounty.

There is no need to claim this anywhere. After grading the money should pop up in your account 'automatically'.

Deadline: Sunday, September 24th @ 11:59pm PST

I hope to accomplish with John Peanut the same thing I was able to accomplish with Strom:  Quad Gold award winner, 2000 tpe as well as eventual hall of fame skater.  Realistically speaking though, the way we have all seen FHM do some really weird things and combining with the fact that World Juniors gold and 4-Star cup championships are arguably the harder...if not the hardest trophies to get on the site simply due to the fact that you have less chances to get them....John will probably end up maybe a Challenge cup and IIHF champion at some point and will probably target more defensive award nominations and records.  One thing I'd also like to experience that is often set aside due to the fact that goalies traditionally aren't them, is to be a team Captain somewhere.  It's a pretty cool experience to get to wear the C on the sweater, and now that I'm playing as a defenseman the possibility is more likely.

It's also an interesting prospect to think about individual success vs team success as team success can't inherently come without several individual successes.  Hopefully the teams that eventually draft or trade for Peanut will have a set plan of action and follow through on it.  Having been around the GM course, it's my own opinion that it doesn't help a team or players at all if the leadership doesn't have a plan or a direction they're looking to go for.  Thankfully with much of the pushes to help GM's, new and old alike, I don't think that should be a problem.
