NoNo Jo in recent games and fan/community interactions
#1

NoNo Jo has been on the Vancouver Whalers for more than half the season now. He has shown off pretty well with lots of goals, lots of assists and winning a vast majority of face offs. Nono Jo has spoke to reporters and states that he hopes to get more time on ice as the season progresses although he knows he’s on a great team so he’s happy to share his time on ice with other players who are contributing to the team’s mild success. Vancouver was going through a bit of a rough patch in the beginning of the season, but has won two games recently, which is not a lot to talk about but better than zero games.

NoNo Jo wonders where the future takes him as two junior teams are about to have a draft. Nono Jo likes being on the whalers, but is interested in the possibility of moving to a new team to experience the start of a team from the ground up and have the legacy of helping build that team.

NoNo Jo has also started to think about getting drafted into the SHL. He knows that the draft season is about to come up and is looking forward to chatting with general managers of various different teams to see what is going to be the best fit for him.

In other- more heartwarming- news, NoNo Jo has donated five of his game jerseys to be raffled off in order to raise money for charities and do-go businesses, including the Trevor project, a local women’s shelter, a low cost or free neuter/spay program for the community, the Angel tree, and a pay what you can restaurant located downtown.

NoNo Jo also showed up at a 5k supporting a local high school. He raced with the best of the crowd but never crossed the finish line, instead opting to stop before the finish ribbon and cheer on all finishers. The 5K raised more than $5,000 which NoNo Jo matched- making the 5k hugely successful and raised more than $10,000 for the local high school which will go to improving their art room and auditorium- including supplies for both.

When asked why NoNo Jo has chosen to be such a large part of his community, he states that he feels so grateful for all the opportunities he has been given as a hockey player. He says he gets to enjoy every single day at work, and is so fortunate to have a job he enjoys. He wants to give back to the community that supports him and makes his dreams possible.
