Dobry den', everyone! The IIHF HO is pleased to announce the S77 IIHF Tournament. This year's showcase of international hockey will be coming to you from the Independent Russian Federation! Last season, the Russians left Sweden early with an exit out of the Round Robin stage, but are looking to have a good showing on home ice this season. The Canadians were the gold medalists last time out with with a win over Switzerland. The Irish took the Bronze Medal with a win over Japan. Will the Canadians be the first back to back winners in many seasons? Or will we see one of our other 13 Federations on top of the podium?

This year's host city will be...St. Petersburg!

The estimated start date of the tournament will be July 29th (preseason to start on July 27th). Keep an eye out for other events around the tournament!

Rosters for this season's tournament can be found here.

Good luck everyone!

Does this mean Ind. Russia gets a boost since they are on home ice? Like is there home ice advantage for host countries?

In-game we just make all rinks look the same to be honest I believe, but a valid questions to ask for parity reasons and one I don't know the answer to personally

It could be a cool level of depth to have certain nations "bid" on the IIHF hosting rights with the host receiving a substantial home ice advantage. I don't know if FHM even has the infrastructure though to allow one team to have "substantial home ice advantage" while others only have a marginal advantage.
